If you want to help us stay ready for the next rescue, consider joining our monthly giving program. Even $5 a month gives us the foundation we need to take on tough cases, cover unexpected vet bills, keep saving lives every single day of the year...and help the next Wallace.

Wallace is on his way to a full recovery - but there are always more cats coming through our doors who need this exact level of care.

100

Harmony House for Cats @hhforcats.org · 06/09/2026

Everything is trending in the right direction, and that is entirely thanks to you. We were completely blown away by this community stepping up to raise over $5,000 for his care! Knowing how many people are rooting for his recovery means the world to us.

110

Harmony House for Cats @hhforcats.org · 06/09/2026

Wallace will still need a couple of weeks of isolation rest - while wearing his fashionable outfits - to make sure he doesn’t re-open the wound but he’s in great spirits.

100

Harmony House for Cats @hhforcats.org · 06/09/2026

Here’s the latest on Wallace! We received some wonderful news during his re-check yesterday - his drain was removed! The infection is clearing up and his wound is healing on schedule.

All told, Wallace's veterinary care will cost at least $2,000. Wallace needs your help to make this full recovery possible. It’s impossible to resist his charm. He remains remarkably affectionate through all of this, and everyone at Harmony House wants to see him thrive.

This photo shows an orange cat wearing a light blue shirt or onesie, standing on a gray textured blanket. A person's hand is gently resting on the cat's back.

Wallace has a long road ahead: a drain for a week, stitches for two weeks, and a full wardrobe of protective cat clothes that he’s already trying to Houdini his way out of. On top of that, he's in urgent need of a dental procedure for several cracked teeth.

This photo shows a close-up of an orange and white cat wearing a white, ribbed sweater. The cat is being held by a person whose hands are visible, and one hand has a large gold ring and a silver ring. The background appears to be an indoor setting with a gray, textured surface below and wooden cabinets in the distance.

He came to us with a persistent, infected wound that needed immediate intervention. Our vet partner was able to clean and close the injury, inserting a drain to start the healing process.

This photo shows a light orange cat wearing a light blue shirt or onesie, lying down on a dark green textured blanket. The cat appears to be resting with its eyes closed.

We learned this morning that Sir Fur, thankfully, is not obstructed but is still needing emergency care due to a very high fever. We’ll continue to keep everyone updated as we learn more. Again - thank you to everyone who has donated so far. It means so much to us.

Harmony House for Cats @hhforcats.org · 11/07/2026

Before the update - a very generous donor has agreed to match all made and future donations for his care up to $3,000! Any additional funds will go towards the current and future cats of Harmony House. You can make a donation through our campaign here or at givebutter.com/hhc-emergenc...

Here’s the big news: We’re currently pacing 90 days ahead of our 2025 adoption rate! That’s three extra months of second chances and lives saved. Better yet - our Working Cats program is also ahead of schedule, having placed nearly 20 cats into their preferred living situation.

We fell in love with Cola right from the start and once we learned he was surrendered due to housing insecurity, we made sure he joined us. We’re still getting to know him and his personality but as you can tell from these photos and video - he’s as sweet as they come.

Sometimes you come across a cat at Chicago Animal Care & Control who sticks in your mind as a cat you absolutely need to transfer and give them their best shot at a second chance. For us, that’s Cola, a 13 year old with quite the tale.

We take holidays *very seriously* here and Valentine’s Day is no exception! We have so many cats looking for the right person to be struck by Cupid’s arrow this and every weekend. 📸: Gorgonzola, Heathcliff, Trick-or-Treat with Gorgonzola and Heathcliff, Phat Phat

The cat has a white chest and "mask" on its face, a small black "goatee" spot on its chin, and striking green eyes. Behind the cat, the background features a shimmering red foil curtain and a wicker basket holding pink roses and heart-shaped Valentine’s Day balloons.

Three cats are gathered in front of a festive Valentine’s Day backdrop. A shiny red foil curtain covers the wall behind them. In the center, several heart-shaped balloons in shades of red and pink—one reading "Happy Valentine's Day"—are tied to a wicker basket filled with pink roses. An orange tabby and a calico cat stand with their backs to the camera, looking up at the balloons, while a black-and-white tuxedo cat in the foreground looks directly at the camera with bright green eyes.

Today, meet Diamond. That’s her CACC name so it’ll change once she’s at the adoption center today. This sweet girl decided humans were pretty sweet and became obnoxiously friendly so duh, she’s ours. We already know she won’t be with us for very long and that’s how we want it to be!

And that save rate, y’all - that’s a number we pride ourselves on. We use the Best Friends formula for this: (Live intakes – Non-live outcomes*) / Live intakes. 90% is the benchmark and our rate speaks for itself - we exceeded that benchmark!
