no co-op game has ever put all the players into the same emotional wavelength so intentionally and effortlessly - it feels as if we all took a psychedelic substance at exactly the same time, experiencing the same joy, and being closer for it

Finished Big Walk with my gaming group yesterday. Best of that genre we’ve played, and one of my favourite games in decades. Play it end to end with the same group if you can. You’ll land on feelings games don’t usually give you, but life does. I woke up still emotional about what we did together

I just beat Big Walk last night and I cannot stop thinking about it... hands down one of the best gaming experiences of my life, I literally sobbed when it was over. It perfectly captured the feeling of taking an unforgettable trip with friends before saying goodbye and parting ways. 11/10

hi friends I am posting on the internet to prove I am alive and share photos of Murphy. Life is good (somehow) and I’m focusing on being where my feet are. I’ve learned a lot recently and understand the world, technology, my experience, and their relation. The grass is worth touching.

the link between misogyny and homophobia is CRAZY bc if these incels just realized and accepted that men are basically terrible instead of somehow superior they’d presumably realize all their self hatred is a result of knowing this and being sexually attracted to men anyways 🤣

I’m not proud of this fact… but the modern police in the US interact with citizens in exactly the same ways we interacted with local nationals in Afghanistan while I was in the Army. And we were up to NOTHING good. You cannot serve or protect a group of people you treat like the enemy.

I finally beat the first game this month and after only 50 hours in Death Stranding 2 I feel I can confidently say — with my entire chest — it’s a technical marvel, a master class in game design, and one of the greatest games I’ve ever played. What an absolute masterpiece.

Something that’s been really eating at me lately is that I’ll never know the person my Mom gave her life trying to protect. They died together and I know nothing but his name and that she cared for him deeply. I hope he’s with her wherever they are.

I’m not really an achievement/trophy hunter in games so for me, acquiring them is an outcome of me enjoying a game so much I try to experience every aspect of it. I’ve only ever done it 6 times on PlayStation but Expedition 33 is on that list!

1121

Tyler Owens @heyt.red · 08/06/2025

So I let it simmer before allowing myself to say so but Clair Obscur Expedition 33 is an actual masterpiece. I’ve beat it twice in a row, once on expert, and even after 130 hrs of play time I want to start it over again.

wanna know why whole studios get sunk following dead ends? because they listen to guys like this, who react to things and think thats trending data instead of understanding the fundamental heart of both game dev and customers: games are chaotic miracles, and there IS no blueprint

always my answer is the same: do good for others. that's it. that's the magic trick. when you wrest focus away from yourself and toward those in need, you become infused with a sense of *helpfulness*, you encounter clear-seeing and easily find genuine, provable value in your actions

I guarantee this is the start of an attempt to reduce or entirely cut VA funding. Trump explicitly wants to celebrate wars that we’ve won instead of the people willing to fight them. This is an attempt at erasing the sacrifices made by nearly every living US veteran.

It's weird... I got my first shotgun on my 12th birthday. I carried a rifle with me 24 hours a day for over a year. I have spent hundreds of hours at the range. I taught basic rifle marksmanship to 700+ US Army officers. Yet today picking up a firearm gives me full body ick.
