I’ve long been a big fan of the short, magical stories that Hex Literary have been curating, and I’m thrilled to have a piece published with them today! “Sixty-One Seconds,” is a flash fiction piece about reality-hopping, violence, love, and all that can happen in a minute and one.

"The silver stork plucked my daughter Salma from the porch of our 1860 colonial during a downpour last July." @yasmeenfahmy.bsky.social's newest, up on hex this week, hit me so damn hard. The kind of story in which surrealism is the only way to capture the heartbreaks of parenting. So beautiful.
