really love how they are improving the map to be a genuine rendition on NYC rather than a vague “feels like” NYC as before, while simultaneously improving the abstract play space with way-marking, distinct POIs, etc. calling the changes “inspired” misses something. maybe “paying homage” instead?

another plus for the Level Design Book is that by acknowledging that LD as a craft is historically that of FPS LD, it also centers that LD as a discipline *has a history* too often level design isn’t treated as a craft that has grown over time, or is treated like a static established monolith.

I’m fairly sure these polls are for testing/refining conservative messaging rather than polling for opinion. Anytime I’ve seen a text for a poll with this UI it’s always had that conservative framing towards the end and polling to see how opinions change after reading a specific statement.

I've covered (and gone to) this beach for years. This is flat wrong. There is a culture of telling creeps to buzz off/ people literally chasing weirdos off the premises (while naked lol). By the way, highly recommend using Seattle Yellow Cab instead. In my experience it’s cheaper, and it has a ride-hail app like Uber or Lyft but only calls sanctioned yellow taxis.

I wouldn’t call it rare nor would I call it uncommon. What’s much more likely is the Downtown Transit Tunnel shutting down for maintenance for a weekend every couple months, blocking light rail access from Capitol Hill to SODO and using a shuttle bus instead

1️⃣ Unreal Engine 5 2️⃣ Source 2 3️⃣ The Level Design workflow for Source 2 is better made for LDs than what exists in Unreal, Unity, and in-house tools I’ve used. That said, UE5 with both @kronok.bsky.social’s Scythe & @joewintergreen.com’s JoeIO is something I need to try to scratch that Source 2 itch
