The pipeline between all things Harry Potter and hurting trans lives is just that--one pipe. Straight line. Direct funding. Not a complicated diagram. When you don't watch the Harry Potter preview, that helps. Not getting the views helps.

Seen a lot of people responding to this with “I’m just going to pirate the show,” and I want to gently remind everyone that the central idea in this piece is that there’s no way to engage with the Potter franchise in any capacity that doesn’t benefit Rowling and her bigotry

I really cannot think of a greater honor than to have the Muppets say this about you upon your passing
Instagram post from the official Muppets account: Few humans have earned the title of honorary Muppet more than the legendary Tim Curry. As a performer he was unparalleled - witty, charming, unnerving, and deeply funny. We will always consider it one of our greatest treasures to have been part of Long John Silver’s crew. Thank you for everything, Tim.

ALA is heartbroken at the passing of country music legend and literacy champion Dolly Parton. Her Imagination Library initiative, inspired by her father's inability to read or write, has put millions of books into children's hands and was considered by her to be among her greatest achievements.

Dolly Partons IMAGINATION LIBRARY

Dear Imagination Library Graduate,

My, how time flies. It seems it was only yesterday when your family and friends read you your first story. You were just a baby. Now you're five years old and about to go to school. How exciting!
This may be your last book from my Imagination Library but you have to promise me you will keep on reading. If you go to your local public library you will find a great number of books just for kids your age. Every book is a treasure and every time you open one up you will meet new friends and take wonderful journeys to magical places.
I hope you have a great time in school. I bet your school will even have a library where you can check out books. You and all of your friends are very special. There is no limit to what you can do or how far you can go.

Just remember the lessons my family taught me - dream big dreams; learn everything you can learn; and care for all those who care for you. You do all of these things and you can be anyone you want to be.

You are terrific, and remember...
I Will Always Love You,
Dolly

Found two new-to-me craft books via @writersatelier.bsky.social! Excited to dive in--and thank you to WA for the fun goodies sent with my order. ☺️
Two writing books lying on a desk, arranged with a Writers Atelier Write Brave sticker, bookmark that says "It's Research," a doorknob sign that says "Do Not Disturb: I'm Writing," and a notecard with a heart and floral pattern on the cover. The two books are the 10th anniversary edition of "Still Writing: The Perils and Pleasures of a Creative Life" by Dani Shapiro, and the second edition of "Self-Editing for Fiction Writers: How to Edit Yourself into Print" by Renni Browne and Dave King.

My copies of @blackfoxlit.bsky.social issue 29 arrived today, just in time for the holidays! My short story, "Marilyn at the End of the World," is one of the pieces featured in the issue. So pleased and honored to be included! ☺️
Me, a smiling woman with shoulder-length purple and blond hair, holds up Issue #29 of Black Fox Literary Magazine. I am wearing pink and purple glasses. The cover of the magazine features a painting of sailboats in an Impressionistic style with blue, green, and yellow hues. This picture features the full cover of issue #29 of Black Fox Literary Magazine. The cover image is an Impressionistic rendering of two sailboats, bathed in sunlight, sitting on smooth, reflective water. The colors in the sky and water are mostly cool blues and greens with warmth brought in by yellow and orange light reflecting off the beige sails of both boats.
