not sure my supervisor truly understands my need to secure my brand new drawing equipment for class. so anyway i now have home-made stickers to stick onto them, and these are not nice stickers. these are impossible to get off. if anyone steals them they will have to live with the guilt! FOREVER!!

I think it might be you just sound like you're quibbling with just the hand and some are concerned you think it's AI. You don't have to like it, though! Gollum is super uncanny valley and uncomfortable-looking, and people's tolerance for that varies by individual.

It's to visually communicate Gollum's general character/backstory with strange, contorted positions. He's spent so long being twisted by the ring into Gollum that he doesn't even move normally anymore. You can make an argument of it not being what YOU would do, but fortunately you aren't Gollum :)
