Altmetric - and #altmetrics - continues to evolve, to support our understanding of what, how and why people read, use and cite research. Whenever we add new data, I often say "there are a couple of papers here". This is different: there's a couple of PhDs.

We know that when people bookmark research, they intend to read or cite it - and we know that people discover research in increasingly diverse ways. doi.org/10.1002/asi.... - "I'm going to add or read when I add to Mendeley" doi.org/10.1002/asi.... - "Early Mendeley correlates with future citations"

It's not often that an app launches a feature you've been waiting a decade for. This week, that dream came real. Altmetric has added a timeline for Mendeley. Why does this matter? Timelines are essential to understand "what activities drive engagement and impact". #scientometrics #altmetrics

There are other populations (e.g. clinicians) that seem stronger on X than BS (very early observation). I think this is a case of early-adopter / creators moving first / and then the audience will follow. (It implies, of course, that re-migration to X is possible, in pursuit of an active audience)
