I predict we'll need gyms for our brains too, once Al

It was pretty good! Plenty of leg room (that’s less of an issue for me but was the main reason for Alex, he’s 6”4), seats were only a little wider though. Real glassware and cutlery, food was average, but snacks and drinks whenever you want. Ice cream midway through too!

We nicked these cute little airplane salt and pepper shakes from the plane - they have ‘pinched from Virgin Atlantic’ printed on the feet, so we felt practically obliged to.
Two small chrome salt and pepper shakers shaped like cartoon aeroplanes, standing side by side on a white paper napkin. Each has stubby wings, a rounded propeller nose, and a little loop on top. The left one has a perforated, multi-holed nose; the right one has a single small hole.

And a rainbow, just for me on our first day… 🌈 🏝️
A faint rainbow over Port St Charles marina, Barbados, with moored yachts, palm trees and peach waterfront buildings beneath a stormy sky.

How’s that for a view from your kitchen window?
Marina canal at Port St Charles in Barbados seen through open white shutters, with a moored sailing yacht in the foreground and ochre waterside houses, palm trees and bougainvillea beyond, under a cloudy sky.

First time flying Premium - I could (unfortunately) get used to this! Glass of Prosecco on boarding the plane - just a shame that a) it’s 11am, and b) I don’t like Prosecco. But the seats are comfy and large and so much legroom! Not that teeny 5”2 (and a bit) me really needs it.

Flight to Barbados this morning has been delayed by 75 minutes, so we could have stayed in bed longer, as opposed to the 5am alarm we had instead! But almost time to board and be away on my holidays!

It’s the simplicity that makes it - because it really is that simple. People can say no to tea! Some people don’t like tea at all! Some people wanted tea but then changed their minds! Unconscious people don’t want tea!

My partner had never seen the work of genius that is the ‘tea consent’ video, so now I’m sharing it here again, because consent explained through the vehicle of tea is the most British thing ever. And also really fucking important.

You do not know how much resolve and willpower it took not to buy one. Or two. A pilot always needs a co-pilot, after all.
