I agree - our giant hedgehog that can take out an electricity pylon with a single bite (as illustrated) should definitely be on our banknotes. Because who knows what damage he might do if he’s not included.

Perhaps we all gravitate to Bluesky… I am also mildly face blind. I once tried to pick up the wrong child from school, which was embarrassing. Uniforms shouldn’t be allowed.

The Bluesky meet-up “Dress as your favourite Girls’ Own illustration” was a great success. The fact that few of the attendees had usable hands had pros as well as cons. #GirlsOwnCc

And schools in the early 1980s had vending machines. And there was plenty of pre decimal coinage lying around at home in those days.

The buffet culture clash works both ways. In a Uk hotel breakfast buffet I saw a chap (whom I think was Japanese) eating a fried egg with strawberry jam.

Just reading a news article about the latest stand-off re parading in Northern Ireland. I can’t help thinking that the Financial Times’ instruction “use two fingers to move the map” sums up what both sides have been trying to do for years.
Plan of Derry taken from the Financial Timea website, with text saying “use two fingers to move the map”

On my 18th birthday, with the best part of a bottle of wine inside me, I turned up to sing evensong and found that Kelly in C was on the menu. “Kelly All at Sea” might have been more accurate. Apologies, Brian Kelly, for what happened to your Magnificat that day.

I just completed a (mandatory) online course at work which has awarded me a certificate of AI proficiency. In the assessment I had to build an AI Agent. I couldn’t do it but asked AI to write a plausible looking paper on how I had built an agent. I can’t decide whether this was cheating or not.

I went to a posh restaurant in a cellar of a Georgian building in UK. A sign outside said “entrance”, pointing to a low archway. I ducked through the archway … and slid down the steep inner embrasure of the window I’d walked through, and landed on a restaurant table below with a loud crash. (1/2)

I understand that people are buying RNLI Christmas cards in order to add money to all the donations which are flooding in.
Now it appears that some are planning to buy them and send them to Reform's free post address.
Really, if you did that, it would cost them an awful lot of money.
But people want to know if such an address exists.
It does.

How can London Bridge be rated above Paddington? Paddington wins every time on architecture, facilities, seating, trains, shops, and statues of bears.

I’m so glad this building is going, or at least being substantially changed. It was the second biggest eyesore in London (rated by my personal opinion, by criteria of ugliness and prominence of location). In case you are wondering, the biggest eyesore is the Guoman hotel next to Tower Bridge.
