The herd doesn't need to grow-the cows are larger. The ranchers need to sell beef at higher prices,but 80% of beef processing is run by 2 US/2 foreign companies who pay ranchers too little while charging stores & us too much. Importing beef will increase those processor's profits not lower our cost.

Tell me who wouldn't look classier, just using this glass cane? Although I have used this a couple times, my everyday hickory walking stick has saved me so many times. From slippery mud to mole holes to just regular uneven ground, a support of any kind is invaluable.

Not a very clear pic as I stayed far away, but I've seen my first fawn 😍 I know there were 4-5 pregnant does & I haven't seen too many does around in the last week. Now I know why. I'll have to start being careful during morning walks & keep an eye out for babies & protective mommas.

5 1/2" of rain overnight. Four feet wide drain pipe got clogged with a 5 feet deep pile of limbs & rerouted the creek across the driveway. Now there's a deep gash. It's a good thing I don't like leaving home, because I can't get out now 😳.

I've had luck with Flaky Pastry I & II. Just remember to NOT over mix the shortening (leave some small chunks, should NOT look like sand). And you can substitute about 1/2 the water with vodka to make it more flaky & less gluten/doughy tough. Let me know if you make one & how it turns out 😊

"press" butter - cut into small chunks, chill, slightly press into dry ingredients. Don' over mix. Add milk. Not sure if this is something you're interested in, but here it is. And if you want an easy pie crust recipe I can get that for you. Secret is to swap out some of the water with vodka 😂

I do. Here's my 1955 version. I've had it for over 40 years & couldn't do without it. It's helped me through lean times w/recipes using leftovers. IMO all high school kids should have to take HomeEc and be given this cookbook (or some equal to it). The money saved from cooking vs delivery is a lot.

I live in a red state, 80% red county, red relatives. Sometimes it feels lonely. I'm not giving up. I've found ways to stand strong and fight back. I will NOT give in. To the others feeling the same way, remember that even though no one close to you is helping, we as a group are stronger than them.

I loved Steve Miller Band. In '77 I twisted my ankle in P.E. and a boy a year ahead carried me out to my mother's car. His name was Steve Miller & he was gorgeous. I was SO IN LOVE!!! 😍😂 This was his picture in the year book.

My little rural red Indiana county showed up today for No Kings. About 250 people, which roughly equal .5% of the county. That might not sound like much, but at the same % in NYC it would equal over 42,000!

My small town of 13K had both sides of a full city block around the courthouse filled with people. The county votes at 75% in favor of Republicans. Yet, so many drivers honked their horns and waved. It was an encouraging sign in this rural red Indiana town.

A cloud in the distance at daybreak. But still no rain. It's been dry for a month & forecast doesn't give much hope for the next 30 days. Living in the woods, wildfires always worry me. And with the farmers getting ready to harvest their dry crops, field fires will surely happen.
