It was on my wish list for a while, but a sale prompted a web page visit, and then this review sealed the deal for @kevinhearne.bsky.social Ink & Sigil. I am down for some obnoxious leftism.
2-star review for Ink& Sigil posted January 13, 2022.
The author can't keep their obnoxious, ignorant, and often hateful Leftism out of their books. Mentioning certain political candidates and calling everyone who voted for them "monsters". That's deplorable behavior. It's a shame because the druid books and the world the author's made are quite fun. Too bad they're spoiling it with their inability to stop themselves from pumping insulting, generalizing and political/woke drivel into their novels.

The first post said "TDA member". Which should imply "part of something that has members". The prior post in the thread was talking about "Venezuelan gang". I had no trouble connecting the concepts.
Google search for query "venezuelan gang tda" showing results from Wikipedia and CNN detailing "Tren de Aragua".

One of the things I like about MKX NOAA office is that they point out the fun things, like a little band of snow being intensified by the heat and moisture from a coal power plant showing up on their RADAR. NOAA's an unmitigated good, folks, and I hope they make it to bsky in their own selves soon.
A weather radar map of southeastern Wisconsin, with a band of more intense precipitation circled. The band drifts east-southeast from the city of Portage to roughly Milwaukee. The map is captioned "Area-wide light snow is underway with slightly higher rates beneath a moisture plume from the Columbia Energy Center near Portage. Any accumulations will amount to a few tenths of an inch or less."

That ain't me, but it's my store, about two years after I was working there. It's gone now.
Rocky Rococo restaurant storefront, in a urban setting so no space between establishments. The store has a red and green awning over a wooden fascia, with big picture windows, revealing a counter inside and a gargantuan conveyor oven the size of a minivan. A person with a handsomely blurred face who is not me stands outside in the snow and glow of a winter's night in contrast to the bright and welcoming store interiors.

I got one of these about a year ago, and (aside from that fritatta the other day) basically cook eggs in nothing else anymore. Needs only a fingertip of butter smeared in each well to release perfectly, eggs cook in about 6-7 minutes on a medium heat. Just wipe out the wells when the pan is cool.
Pan with four egg wells in, made of metal with a grey flecked anti-stick coating and a faux wood handle.

I saw fritatta elsewhere. So this is dinner.
Dinner fritatta with eggs, ham and greens visible.

Thin slice 250g potato, fry in 10g butter until soft, seasoning with salt and pepper. Scramble six eggs, chop 50g of greens (leaf lettuce here but literally anything softer than kale will do; spinach is canonical), 150g of cooked ham or sausage, and a small amount of green onion. Put greens on top of potato, add meat, and pour eggs over, then sprinkle with green onion. Cover pan, lower heat, and let cook for about 10 minutes or until the top solidifies and starts puffing up.

Yup. That stuff is OUT THERE. Even in aggregate, you can just look at stock prices year to year for a meter of "how well does the public think this company is doing" if you don't want to read the details yourself. Does it look like this? That's not a company struggling with inflation.
Screenshot for stock price of Cal-Maine, the US's largest egg producer showing a doubling of stock price in the prior year and a 117% increase since 2020. While not a direct metric for "profit", stock price represents an overall mood for a company's profitability and the expectation of yield from holding shares, so it's a reasonable distillation for "how a company is doing" for people who aren't interested in reading quarterly reports and listening to earnings calls.

an update on the McCarthy investigation. Christopher
Miller, the acting secretary of defense (Trump had fired
his predecessor, Mark Esper, three weeks earlier, writing
in a tweet, “Mark Esper has been terminated”), was in
attendance, along with Miller's chief of staff, Kash Patel.
Ata certain point, according to two people present at
the meeting, Trump asked, “Did they bill us for the
funeral? What did it cost?”

According to attendees, and to contemporaneous notes
of the meeting taken by a participant, an aide answered:
Yes, we received a bill; the funeral cost $60,000.

Trump became angry. “It doesn’t cost 60,000 bucks to
bury a fucking Mexican!” He turned to his chief of staff,
Mark Meadows, and issued an order: “Don’t pay it!”
Later that day, he was still agitated. “Can you believe
it?” he said, according to a witness. “Fucking people,
trying to rip me off.”

Khawam, the family attorney, told me she sent the bill
to the White House, but no money was ever received by
the family from Trump. Some of the costs, Khawam
said, were covered by the Army (which offered, she said,
to allow Guillén to be buried at Arlington National
Cemetery) and some were covered by donations.
Ultimately, Guillén was buried in Houston.

Like, it is really all that much weirder than this lil' guy living underground wearing a metro car for a glove?
The internet enjoyed the story of how Fallout 3: Broken Steel's Presidential Metro car worked. The train, it was said, was actually a hat worn by an NPC who would run beneath the level upon activation—thus neatly faking the appearance of a working rail system. A good story, and one we posted about, but it's not exactly correct. I spent the morning tinkering with Fallout 3's editor, GECK, only to discover that the truth is also pretty silly.

The moving Metro cab is an item in Broken Steel called 'DLC03MetroCarArmor'. It's not a hat, but rather an arm piece.
