thought i'd share my thoughts on coyote vs acme now that it's been out for a good bit

"Has anyone else seen Coyote vs ACME?"

digging this up but. i did, it was a very good movie

it was worth the watch even as someone with zero attachment to looney tunes. fantastic blend of live action and animation, fantastic execution of a crackhead concept

the whiteboy lawyer was like ok he was only okay but wile e is a funny motherfucker and you have the terror of foghorn leghorn backed by heel john cena

like most corporate movies it has a half-baked message it tries to make in there somewhere and its emotional moments often struggled to land with me

since it's a comedy you could excuse a lot of that but it makes you wonder why it's there. the only emotional bit that got me was near the end where roadrunner said he has been witness to wile e's suffering and despite everything considers him a friend

and i walked out of that movie theater just thinking "man that fucking coyote will chase the roadrunner until the end of time"

all in all it's not my favorite comedy movie (go watch hundreds of beavers if you haven't) but it outranks any of disney and pixar's output i've seen over the last decade

something i have to remember regarding the job hunt is that i am a good person... since i graduated i've seen many job openings for genai trainers with a base pay of $50 an hour, which it would've been easy for me to get into, and i never took those because that would go against my principles

Tomorrow, Discord will place everyone into an age group using account signals. They claim 90% of users won't have to confirm their age. They are also introducing new verification methods if you do need to verify that you are an adult, including Credit Cards and App Stores.

More than 90% of you won’t be asked to confirm your age. Since our last post about teen safety, we've had to launch age assurance solutions in more places, including Texas and Brazil. Laws requiring age assurance are expanding around the world. Rather than waiting to be told how to do it, we’re launching our own privacy-preserving approach: one that reflects your feedback.
You can check your age group status at User Settings > Account Status. We've estimated your age group automatically from account signals like how long your account has existed or the kinds of servers you're a part of. We don’t look at your messages, calls, or other content. We're launching this over the course of this week, so it may take a few days to reach your account.
If you're in the adult age group (18+), nothing changes. If you're in the teen age group (13-17), you can keep messaging friends, joining voice calls, and participating in non-age-restricted servers, but with additional safety protections that block age-restricted content, spaces, and settings.
