Bristol is the most unaffordable city for renters in the UK. High rents trap people in poverty and price them out of their homes. It’s time for action. As a renter in Bristol myself I've pledged my support for new powers to tackle unaffordable rents. @generationrent.bsky.social

I'm endorsing the fabulous Rachel for deputy leader of the party. I've been inspired by Rachel from a distance, she's proven herself leading a council and performed brilliantly on TV.

There is a photo headshot of her smiling in the top left hand corner under the banner "Rachel Millward Hope Can Win #Rach4Deputy". Beneath the photo is a quote from councillor Heather Mack which says, "I've been inspired by Rachel from a distance, she's proven herself leading a council and performed brilliantly on TV. We need a deputy with leadership skills, media skills, and who appeals to a large audience."

Collision with a cyclist on Redcliffe roundabout this morning. I cycled past. I don't know what happened here, but I've already had three incidents this year of drivers pulling out on me on this round about during my morning commute. Something has got to change! www.bristolpost.co.uk/news/bristol...

On the 23rd, myself and the Vench (Lockleaze adventure playground) and lovely local + Vistry volunteers served Christmas dinner for 75! Special thanks to my mother for all her help, and Vistry for donating the food.

It's brilliant news that more transport powers will be devolved. Local politicians know best what's needed & how to integrate the options locally. Now we need a mayor who will show leadership on this, which is something we've not seen from Labour.

I love this! And considering our current obesity and inactivity epidemic the energy being consumed whilst cycling is a good thing for most of us!

News of attacks on cyclists in East Bristol is really unpleasant. But I hope it doesn't put people off! There are so many benefits of active travel, but we need to feel safe and comfortable doing it. I've cycled Netham Park/Feeder route at night for years, but...

Myself and @cllremmaedwards.bsky.social went to a brilliant West of England Transport Association meeting with tram expert Dr Walmsely. I'm excited about the prospect of bringing trams to Bristol and Bath, we need to create the system and the right environment for the demand to follow!

Despite the weather there's a good turn out for the vigil for the elimination of violence against women and girls. A sobering fact everyone should know is that a women is killed by a man every 3 days in the UK.

Clarkson is a questionable spokesperson on this, he bought a farm specifically to avoid inheritance tax! I support a tax on wealth and we need to work out how to make this fair whilst supporting our farmers to produce the good food we need in an environmentally and financially sustainable way.

I know lots of people are put off cycling in bad weather because they need to look smart. I cycled for nearly an hour in the snow this morning and will attend a formal council meeting this afternoon.

Tonight I've hosted a game of 'political werewolf' for the North Somerset Greens. Imagine Traitors with a political twist, including cabinet members under the influence of the oil industry, Larry the Cat as the detective and a 'spin' doctor. Perfect for all the fellow political geeks!
