"Nothing about our healthcare system makes sense."- @aswinn.bsky.social Pass it on. #healthsky
A small pharmacy story: yesterday, I went to pick up medicine for my daughter's migraines. Insurance has decided not to cover it this month for god knows why. $180 for 9 pills. The pharmacist says "one second, let me see if I can apply coupons," clickety clack of his keyboard, then he says, "okay, now it's $16."
Nothing about our healthcare system makes sense.

The anger and despair are real. Listen to @annakarras.bsky.social #healthinsurance #unitedhealthcare #healthcare #healthinsurancepolicy #luigimangione
anna.karras.writes: So I got a letter from my health insurance company today that denied me coverage of a gel shot in my knee (for severe arthritis- I'm bone-on-bone) because all other treatment options had not yet been exhausted. The anger and despair are real. And I'm not dying, I just can't walk without pain. #healthinsurance

Health insurers shouldn't be making these decisions, forcing you to "white knuckle through" without treatment.
My health insurance story: I’ve had a panic disorder since I was a baby. It’s now in “remission.”
But when it wasn’t, no doctor could get me approved for anti-anxiety medication because, according to insurers, anti-anxiety medication wasn’t medically necessary for MY ANXIETY DISORDER.
I’ve never had access to Xanax, Ativan or anything other panic sufferers rely on.
I’ve just had to white knuckle through.
