My child is interning on a Costa Rican reserve in the cloud forest for her Masters research project for 12 months. Of course I am devouring every single FB post from the reserve.

Me: endlessly rehearsing a conversation in my head that I need/want to have (usually while lying awake at night) Also me: very rarely being able to initiate the conversation with the people I need/want to talk to….

When I was a little girl in Africa my mum would sit my sister and I on the draining board of the sink with our feet in the sink so that she could just wash us after we’d eaten our mangoes!

Had an epic road trip, from the Highlands to Coniston in the Lakes for 2 nights, then to Cornwall for 3 nights, then Devon for 1, Dorset for 2, south Yorkshire for 1 night, Dundee for 1 hour, and back to the highlands. Over 10 days in total.

Ruby Bridges was 6-years-old when she stepped into the history books. Bravely accompanied by her mother, she was the first Black child to desegregate an all-white school in the South. It was not long ago… Today is her birthday. She is still with us. She is 72. Happy birthday, Ruby Bridges 💜

As Britain swelters through another heatwave, few people will have heard that ministers have quietly dropped plans for solar carports. Cars cooler in summer. Shelter from the rain in winter. Clean electricity all year round. A missed opportunity?

As Britain bakes, ministers quietly park plans for solar carports

Ministers have quietly shelved plans that could have transformed Britain's biggest car parks into shaded power stations

Every time my mother flew she used BA. They lost her luggage. Every. Time! So she would have to manage until they got it to her. I never understood why she didn’t use a different airline after the first few times.

Their only real argument is that it means his wife can still earn an income as a taxi driver. I still don’t understand why she hasn’t used the last two years to apply for her own operators licence in her own name.

And yes, he’s currently serving time, so not a threat for now. I have since learned it’s his wife who wants the license. But they’re not transferable so she should apply in her own right. So still no need for him to still have it granted.

It’s high time that taxi drivers, taxi operators, bus drivers have PVG checks across the board. All passengers are in a position of vulnerability. This man has access to addresses & where people may be alone. He is still a risk, even if he’s not driving.

K May Law @healingcentred.bsky.social · 01/07/2026

Yeah, I couldn’t figure out from the listing if the houses came too. Like if I could buy it could I live there? It’s a share sale. So maybe I might be able to afford a single share of the estate. Probs not, actually.
