I’m in BC Canada and we have a provincial election. The conservative party is far right with at least 20% candidates being abhorrent human beings. I don’t care if you prefer their fiscal policies over the left parties, but if you vote for them you’re voting for hate. Polls show them leading. Ugggg

I live in BC and I’m horrified that the conservatives are leading in the polls and really hope a combo of NDP and Greens hold the balance of power after next week. There is so many disturbing people on the right side.

I tried to watch it but turned if off after about 1/3. It was painful.

I asked for a copy for my birthday this weekend 🎉 pumped to read it!!!

I love this for them. May all their remaining games go this way too.

Lucky!!! I bought it at 50% off and it was like weird blue ice stuff (not ice cream), the worst vanilla ice cream and the only saving grace mini peanut butter cups.

I was wondering. I know there were a few countries who stayed and cheered and were named but I was hoping we weren’t one of the ones staying but silent. I guess best not to hope…I had also emailed my MP in advance about not allowing his flight into our airspace. Deaf ears I guess…

Hayley 🇨🇦💪🍁 @hdizzle55.bsky.social · 20/09/2026

I’ll be writing my Canadian MP to voice my opposition to his plane entering Canadian airspace again. He can take the long way around. Or he can enter and be arrested. Also acceptable.

Hahahah I thought the same thing. We aren’t that desperate.

This is awesome. I was hoping @jamiedodd.bsky.social would be back on the airwaves this season. Although I guess they aren’t airwaves now?!?! Digital waves? Great addition.

I’m just feeling less and less interested in all the Canucks and Rogers bullshit this season. No 650. No pre/post game. Having to fork out more $ for multiple streaming networks to see the games. Cut all the women from national panels. Expecting it to be 32nd place team…like hello marketing 101????

This ⬆️ And even if it was stolen there has been absolutely no recourse, investigation, etc and every time he breaks the constitution, goes against congress, etc there is no recourse. He’s proved there are no checks and balances. This doesn’t end with him being out power.

Hayley 🇨🇦💪🍁 @hdizzle55.bsky.social · 10/09/2026

Yeah I’m in the same boat. He is what is needed now. I don’t agree with some of the internal policies he is doing and have been writing my MP but for international relations he is key.

Hayley 🇨🇦💪🍁 @hdizzle55.bsky.social · 09/09/2026

I mean the UK was already intertwined and screwed themselves by leaving. But for Canada we would have to build ties and spend $ on doing all of it and I don’t see that being worth it. We can open up free trade and adopt the types of policies we want without having to jump through all the hoops

110 1

Hayley 🇨🇦💪🍁 @hdizzle55.bsky.social · 09/09/2026

With you on this. I’ve wondered that too. I think we should be closer with Europe and even adopt many of their stricter food and digital safety standards etc but I don’t think we need to join the EU for that. We can just learn from good policies around the world and create our own.

While I don’t agree with everything Carney is doing regarding things like environmental protections and pushing a new pipeline, in terms of dealing with the regime down south and setting up new international trading agreements, Carney is the person for that. #ohcanada #truenorthstrongandfree 🍁 🇨🇦

That’s the thing about people waiting and hoping for the election or for trumps age to catch up with him (and not just the dementia…🪦) but there is a whole team of infrastructure behind him driving this. It doesn’t end with defeating him. And I don’t think the democrats have any plan for it.

Hayley 🇨🇦💪🍁 @hdizzle55.bsky.social · 24/08/2026

Will I be tuning in. I’ll be listening to coverage around the team (but side question: without 650 what will that look like) but back to the primary question, will I watch the games. They lost me after 32 years last season…

Hayley 🇨🇦💪🍁 @hdizzle55.bsky.social · 23/08/2026

I mean, I get the motive of getting him out of the country but he can pay for his own bloody ticket. I’m not spending a cent on him. Or his foreign backers in the US can also chip in on the tickets or maybe JD Vance. I would pay money to somehow prevent him from coming back though…

I was coming here to say that. I’m a goldeneyes season ticket holder and booed her each and every time she touched the puck at the games I was at. This was on pride night and it was awesome seeing all the flags right behind their bench as we beat the frost #fuckbritta

I went to one of their on ice clinics in the spring and she was a ball of energy and felt so much like a coach. More than a GM in that moment. I think she’s going to be awesome. Had great rapport with the players on the ice that day too.

How do I feel. Meh!! Not sure I’m ready to come back to this team. I’m still in wait and see mode. But if I was planning on watching, I dislike it. I liked the prime production, but cancelled my membership due to amazons practices in general and bezos support of trump so I wouldn’t be able to watch

Maybe he and millions of other Americans can rise up against the government they don’t support and make some real change that will help the world. Do that and we’ll consider your wine again!!! But sitting on his but and whining about trump isn’t going to buy sympathy.

Or even better in a country like NZ that has a public system and introduced a 2 tiered system with a private arm and feels to me like the public system is going to die a slow death due to lack of funding.

You mean the roads I’ve taken to both the Juan de fuca and west coast trials from both the Victoria side and Duncan/Lake Cowichan way???? lol. To be fair post west coast trail going through to Duncan I was really focused on a shower and non-dried foods so I was distracted.
