Germany has cancelled funding for the German Cochrane Foundation. Bad news all around. Cochrane’s benefit to cost ratio is huge. @cochrane.org www.sueddeutsche.de/politik/wark...

When we talk about the costs that LLMs impose on society we should not forget the fact that nothing works anymore because everyone is so scared of getting their shit scraped. I can't even use google scholar from my university or starlink because they send too much traffic.

In the Planning section, clearly structured landscapes dominate the picture: vast research plains where hypotheses are formed, well-mapped paths of methodology and transparent data sources that need to be carefully developed.

Weak leaders insist that they're the best. They seek attention to feed their egos, and measure success by how many followers they attract. Strong leaders ask how they can get better. They seek feedback to fuel their growth, and gauge success by how many lives they improve.

1. Kevin Gross and I just posted a new science-of-science preprint. This one explores the looming peer review crisis. As many of you know, it's becoming significantly more difficult for journal editors to find scholars willing to serve as peer reviewers for submitted manuscripts.

A balanced argument doesn’t weigh two sides equally. It weighs the strongest evidence more heavily. Critical thinking isn't about representing every view. It's about recognizing your biases, and giving serious consideration to facts that contradict your hopes and beliefs.
