Heather B @hbrarian.bsky.social · 05/06/2026Filling in for ILL this afternoon and on a lark, I checked the accessibility of a very recent article from an offshoot journal of a prestige publisher. It lit up like a slot machine. 🤦🏻♀️ 020
Heather B @hbrarian.bsky.social · 22/05/2026A long time ago I saw someone gleefully tearing their poster up at the end of MLA. Seems like a good option and a potential new ritual. I don’t like cloth posters and am not a sewer. And what am I gonna do with a paper poster, hang it on my bedroom wall? #mlanet26 #medlibs 260
Heather B @hbrarian.bsky.social · 22/05/2026Attending #mlanet26 session of slow librarianship CE attendees from #mlanet25 and their experiences since then. Began with shoutout to @librarianmer.bsky.social and other voices in this movement. 040
Heather B @hbrarian.bsky.social · 22/05/2026Realized most of the sessions I’ve been to were immersion-like. Mostly leadership or development, a couple practical things. I mean it fits where I am and I’m not complaining but it’s an interesting observation. #mlanet26 #medlibs 050
Heather B @hbrarian.bsky.social · 20/05/2026Loving the architecture in Milwaukee! Great new member, first time attendee breakfast, good insight about the fed purpose license re: NIH public access policy, hard time hearing in ballroom so need to sit closer for Doe lecture, then hung my poster! Heather B @hbrarian.bsky.social · 19/05/2026About to land in MKE for #mlanet26 Glad I skipped a year. Didn’t feel like travel or in person conferencing last year. But I miss OG back channel conference chat from the bird app. Couldn’t keep up back then. Remember the first MLA official Tweetup? It was hilarious! #medlibs 040

Heather B @hbrarian.bsky.social · 15/05/2026I can’t help it. Every time I see the often used abbreviation for persistent identifiers, my mind goes to the OG clinical abbreviation meaning. Another term should really be adopted. #medlibs get it. 000
Heather B @hbrarian.bsky.social · 13/05/2026I nearly had a panic attack today when I remembered I agreed to peer review an article a couple weeks ago and thought it was due this Friday. Fortunately due next week! I have the time now and I only agreed because I knew I had the capacity based on the content, this close to MLA. Whew! 020
Heather B @hbrarian.bsky.social · 11/05/2026Anyone printing their poster in Milwaukee? If so, where? Never done it this way. There’s a FedEx nearby. My days of hauling a poster tube on a plane are over. I tried cloth last time, which is ok, but looks a bit sloppy and takes a team to hang. #mlanet26 #medlibs 030

True, it does take repetition to remember steps but fixes are simple and sometimes Adobe Acrobat fixes it for you. Second, as a colleague pointed out, the extension may only apply to K-12 as the proposal references municipalities. Higher ed is state. We’ll see what the final ruling says. 010
