Built in 1892–93, Earlestown Town Hall stands out with its red brickwork, Flemish-inspired gables and striking clock tower. Once a hub for civic life, this Grade II listed landmark is now the focus of work to secure its future. 📷️: © Sue Adair (cc-by-sa/2.0)

Good news Friday! 🚌 A 1950s bus shelter in Hillesley, Gloucestershire, designed by modernist architect Berthold Lubetkin, has been Grade II listed. Thought to be one of just four of its kind surviving in England, it’s a wonderful example of everyday heritage. 📷️: Ray Bird, CC BY-SA 2.0

All Saints, Cockermouth, Cumbria (Grade II*, 1852) is a striking example of High Victorian Gothic, with connections to William Wordsworth. We’ve been making the case for the church’s original font to remain unobscured by new amenities at the West End. (1/2)

We objected to proposals to replace the inn with 2 new attached houses, as the supporting documentation fails to provide an adequate assessment of the inn, the potential significance of various elements of its fabric, or consider its potential for adaptation as dwellings within the new development.
