lets talk about a truly bad game mechanic real quick. objectively worthless. hunting in tomb raider 2016 is mandatory once and marketed as a big part of the gameplay loop. it is never useful. You cannot start the real game without proving you can hunt and track. It provides nothing.

y'all got any confusingly long lasting franchises? not like, madden, like.. Epyx, or Broderbund. Companies that made a big impact without any lasting impact or growth. My first favorite video game was a rebrand of a Falcom game, published by Broderbund for the NES.

I understand entirely why people want to use AI for reverse engineering. It's hard, and AI might tell you that you've been dissecting a bespoke sscanf and save you an hour. But I should be able to learn, rather than run to the idiot machine. LLMs need to fuck right off.

weird accomplishments: I found a legal infinite money trick in guild wars 2. I stopped when I caused a global price spike in an item. I caused the death of essencero, the last good RO server I played. I miss it. I used to write a Saturn emulation guide every year. I don't remember any of it now.
