➤ The RSF said it seized Kurmuk on Thursday, days after capturing the nearby town of Geisan. The army had recaptured Kurmuk from RSF in early July after the RSF and an allied SPLM-N faction first captured it in March. The town sits near the Ethiopian border, close to the Roseires Dam and the state capital Damazin and regional monitors reported support for RSF from Ethiopia in the military operation.

🔹Israeli forces have built at least 7 new bases and 32 kilometers of logistical roads across the occupied area, also seizing strategic positions such as Beaufort Castle and Christofani Ridge, and destroying the overwhelming majority of buildings in major population centers like Khiam and Maroun al-Ras.

🔹Defense minister Katz has declared that 200,000 Lebanese would not return home. A senior defense official described the objective as creating a “scorched earth mindset.”

🟢 🇵🇸 A Hamas delegation led by Zaher Jabarin, the movement’s leader in the occupied West Bank, met in Cairo with a Palestinian Islamic Jihad delegation headed by Secretary-General Ziad al-Nakhalah, Hamas said Saturday.

The two movements said they agreed on the need to “develop joint work and unified national positions” and to exert every effort to “protect the Palestinian people and restore their legitimate rights.”

They called for Israel to be compelled to halt “all forms of aggression, killing, and assassinations,” fully withdraw from Gaza, begin early recovery efforts, and allow the entry of all essential civilian needs.

They also urged the immediate entry of the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza so it can assume its responsibilities toward the population without delay.

The meeting addressed the escalating situation in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem, including what they described as Israel’s accelerating “Judaization” policies, expanding crimes against Palestinian prisoners, and ways to confront those actions amid “complete international silence,” which they said amounts to a green light for continued violations.

During the meeting, Jabarin and al-Nakhalah held a phone call with Hamas political bureau chief Khalil al-Hayya. The three stressed the need to support the Palestinian people and end the “ongoing war of aggression.”
