All this resentment, I feel - started at the 24 hour 60th party, when Michael Colglazer got a late-night call saying that the party had blocked I-5 North and that they needed to do something about it - and Disneyland was empty because they didn't plan correctly.

So I just finished the first section of the Chapek book, and I’ll sum it up like this: I have often accused TWDC of actively resenting their parks guests, and some folks said that was too far, but this book is proof straight from the source that I was absolutely spot on with that assessment

I miss it. A lot. I miss the old community and what it was. I miss the purpose, the fun, and why I wanted to live and work in Irvine to begin with. I miss the evenings spent at the resort after work, the ambition of the entertainment and operations to keep that audience enagaged.

I have a feeling we'll eventually see these fake pass names disappear at Disney too, eventually. The whole point of the tier names is to make them seem aspirational. They just did it because they were cocky that somehow coming out of COVID they didn't need passholders (see chapek book).

Of everything rumored - this seems the most realistic to me. The building that is the Matterhorn is mostly wood, and those yearly track rebuilds have got to really be getting up there cost-wise.

Mine was that same Tandy 1000! Got it for $5 from a Garage Sale in like ~1993. Called Radio Shack to see if they had DOS disks for it, and they helped me find/make some!

McDonald's isn't doing the free codes via the Internet this year, and instead switched back to sending a SASE to a PO Box. They must have given away so much stuff. I was getting my full 8 codes via the web everyday almost the whole game.

Play App died today, closing another piece of my decade+ of Disney interactivity. touringplans.com/blog/saturda... This little app (and its team) tried to do was "prioritize play, connection, and the boundless potential of imagination". Thanks for everything. I'll always be part of Gaya's Crew.

I think it's pretty clear that brands as a whole are steering clear of Bluesky, mostly because there's no real engagement stats or ability to market/advertise here. I get it, and I kinda prefer it without the brands - it feels more human.

Well, especially with the party nights and pushing people to specific days. It was hell last year. A lot of us fell off and were like "whatever". I see all the little things (reduced dining hours, etc.).

There's a map in Fortnite (not great) that can unlock a multiplier on Smuggler's Run depending on how you level up the three assignments (Pilot, Gunner, Engineer) Fortnite can also show your last Smuggler's Run scores It's all very well connected, it's just not super compelling story or lore wise.

Is there an expectation among people generating AI flyers that they look like this? Maybe they want this look? Do think that once layered models replace regressive models, we'll see more interesting outputs that can push back. Right now, image models can't really push back.

Bizarre because ONLY ChatGPT's model is making flyers that all have this same "look" - and I feel that it's intentional. Using Nano Banana or any other models out there, you generally get options - I think OpenAI is going for "this is now also what people expect to get as an output thing too".

Middle dragged for me, given it's a 1:42 movie. Forte's acting didn't do it for me. Glad to see it get released, I'm sure I'll enjoy it on another rewatch via home media - but Roger Rabbit brings up a lot of the same themes/tones. Still fun to see these characters in a new release!

Saw Coyote vs. Acme, and I was much rougher than I expected. Overall lots of the Looney Tunes gags were good, and there's a good message in there - but the whole movie is a bit of a mess. Also not hard to hear the ADR in the movie, I have no idea what this plot looked like before the tweaks.
