Play App died today, closing another piece of my decade+ of Disney interactivity. touringplans.com/blog/saturda... This little app (and its team) tried to do was "prioritize play, connection, and the boundless potential of imagination". Thanks for everything. I'll always be part of Gaya's Crew.
The crew builds a datapad cases.Datapad and case running Play app on Oga's table.Datapad connects to a terminal on the Halycon.A tangram puzzle is on the table around some adult drinks.

So the Planet Coaster developers are working with Disney on a Creative Management Simulation game, that they will fully fund. Interesting! Gonna be wild if we get an actual Disney Parks management game!

I feel like the Epic lighting has been replaced, maybe a couple of times. I noticed LOTS of segments/lights out again and capped lights near the entrance a few weeks ago.

After 5 years, a checkout flow to purchase Magic Key Passes directly in the app, and new terms (that don't match the WDW): "Park reservations are required to visit on "reservation required dates," and park reservations are limited and subject to availability." (Can't screenshot during this flow)
"Park reservations are required to visit on "reservation required dates," and park reservations are limited and subject to availability. A theme park reservation does not guarantee park admission or access to any experience, attraction, offering or dining location. Additionally, park reservations may not be available on select holidays for cer ain theme parks."

The "Purchase Passes" link on the Magic Key page now sends you right to the checkout flow and no longer tries to force you to read the T&C before you click to the store page. They have instead moved it to a "clickwrap" style approval checkbox.
Review Important Details screen before checkout.

I've NEVER seen Disney capturing these kinds of questions before
"Which of the following best describes your experience riding Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind on July 17?

I rode it successfully without any issues
I rode it successfully, but some show elements did not appear to be working
I rode it successfully, but the ride was interrupted while we were on it
I rode it successfully, but the ride was interrupted while we were on it AND some show elements did not appear to be working

We were evacuated and had to exit the ride before it was over"

a big "tide is turning moment" when this has been the top post on /r/disneyland for a few days and there's not a single upvoted pixie duster lots of comments about poor CS, and the overall "hoops aren't worth the product" I know personally of 40 people that have let their passes lapse post-COVID.
For the first time in 20 years I'm not going to be a passholder. It's weird how disconnected I've felt from the park over the past few years. I kept renewing chasing that pre-2020 Disney magic but it feels like it's gone. I'm curious if anyone else has felt this way.
