A kitchen counter with various food items laid out. There are three egg, bacon, tomato, and cheese sandwiches on a wooden cutting board, along with containers of grains, a carton of milk, a jar of spread, and a bowl of seeds on a scale. In the background, there is a stove with pans and a coffee machine.

Tom's Hardware regularly tracks RAM pricing and their latest analysis shows that you could buy 128GB of DDR5-6400 for US$329 a year ago. Today it is US$3,400. 32GB and 64GB DDR5 kits of all speeds are up between 350% to 485% compared to last year. Cool

Ratatouille. It needed a bit more fat and salt so I added some butter to finish. Not in the recipe but I figure it's French and you can add butter, cheese, and wine to any French food, right?! 😂

If you don't test, you won't have any cases.
🚏🥬 The US stopped monitoring the “explosive diarrhea” bug last year. Cyclosporiasis, better known as explosive diarrhea, has been sweeping across the USA, with over 7,000 cases reported so far across nearly every state. Sharp-eyed observers noticed that the US’s Centers for Disease Control used to monitor cyclospora, the parasite that causes the illness, but stopped monitoring it last year, along with listeria, shigella, and other bugs.

The bin police visited our street this morning.
A yellow recycling bin with a paper notice hanging on its handle. The notice has two sections: a top white section with a large black checkmark and the text “Thank you – We didn’t see any incorrect items in your recycling bin today,” and a grey “Oops” section below. The bottom section lists common recycling mistakes with checkboxes, small illustrations of rubbish bags, soft plastics, batteries, and clothing. A note at the bottom advises that in the event of a problem, the bin will still be collected but requests correct sorting in future.

Oura ring owners getting absolutely p0wn3d in 3…2…1…

tl;dr - I built an OpenClaw plugin for ŌURA data, and it's bonkers.
Hi folks. Oura Chief Medical Officer here with a personal project.

One of the biggest challenges and opportunities with LLMs is to ensure that they have rich context for personalized responses. This is why r/openclaw - which has gone from zero to hero in just a few weeks - has tremendous potential (also huge risks - more on that below).

If you don't know what I'm talking about, OpenClaw (formerly Clawdbot/Moltbot) is an open source project that runs on your computer and allows integration with a rapidly-growing set of tools/plugins/skills that the LLM of your choice (e.g., r/ClaudeAI, r/GeminiAI, r/xAIGrok, r/ChatGPT, or local models) can interact with. Imagine a personal assistant that can check-in to your flights on your behalf, install software with a simple request, or provide a summary of your day every morning. And this is all done through the messaging service of your choice: iMessage, WhatsApp, Signal, Telegram, etc. This is basically Iron Man's Jarvis, available today.

🚏☎️ A phone app is paying users up to $30 a day to record their calls

A new mobile app called Neon, which has become the #2 social app on the iOS App Store, pays users 30¢ a minute (and up to $30 a day) for the privilege of recording their incoming and outgoing phone calls. The app’s privacy policy gives the owners nearly unlimited access to phone call data, which they say they’ll sell to AI companies to help train voice models. The founder said he was inspired to build the company after seeing how telecoms profit off user data, and wanted to let people get a cut of that income.
