It's probably time European journalists wrapped their heads around Heat Index (temp + relative humidity). In high humidity, sweating is less efficient, making heat worse, e.g.: Experiencing 35°C in London UK (70% RH) is more dangerous than 50°C in Phoenix Arizona (15% RH)

One of the more interesting images from the NTSB report on the Titan submersible implosion. Imagine you work in data recovery. You've got data off devices dropped from heights, driven over, immersed in water, lightly incinerated... then someone from NTSB rocks up and leaves this with you...

Memories: my undergrad project was on phosphate disturbance from the building of the EDF's Whitelees windfarm: taking cores of peat over a freeze/thaw cycle, I had exactly this. Was really interesting to see the P release, which the construction triggered, slam to a stop as soon as the ice melted
