I am grateful that we live in a time where antidepressants can help individuals with depression. But there is a problem with the fact that the minute someone starts to show emotion, especially those who are uncomfortable with it and have a hard time opening up, someone suggests antidepressants.

Happy Labor Day! I am a PROUD spawn of a union parent. It provided well for our family, including good wages and wonderful healthcare for all of us. That meant a lot to me when I had two surgeries when I was 13. My family did not go into debt. The fight for worker's rights continues. Keep fighting!

When the Gatlinburg Wildfires happened in 2016, Dolly gave impacted families $1,000/month to help them get back on their feet. This included my father-in-law, who lost everything in the fire. Dolly gave children in TN free books each month, from birth to the age of five. She was a goddamn saint.

I started my PhD program with an eight week old at home, sole income being my doctoral stipend, in a history program, in Knoxville, TN. And every month we got a new book to read to my son, free, mailed to us, so my kid, my kids, grew up in rooms full of books even when I had no money. That's Dolly.

Noooooo. ☹️ She was just an amazing, giving angel on this earth who never forgot the poverty she grew up in. She gave back in so many ways, including literacy, disaster relief, and even COVID research. On top of that, she was a legendary musician. The world is not as bright a place with her in it.
