the other thing about rereading Tam Lin as an adult is like. Look every person who has ever loved this book has loved it because Janet is #representation. And i am one of them and so are you and let's all praise the Lord. What I'd forgotten is that for the last third or so of the story Tina absents herself totally from the action so that she can instead go and hang out at the contra dance, where they are nice to her. Which means that in fact Tina is, if not the character I find most relatable, i mean that might be enough to make her that too but even if not she is unambiguously the person i'd be most likely to befriend in real life. And let's all praise the Lord
