As I keep my reviews spoiler-free, there was so much I couldn't say about Digger earlier this week. But now that it's out in the world, I've written a spoiler piece all about the early twist that changes everything. Enjoy! missflicks.com/2026/10/03/u...

Unpacking Digger’s wild twist: What really happens?

What is Digger's big secret? The early twist that changes everything? Find out here!

Verity is not a good book, so the film adaptation didn't stand much of a chance. At least Colleen Hoover's novel was gripping and exciting, two things the movie never manages to be. What a shame for all involved. In cinemas today. Review: missflicks.com/2026/10/02/v...

Verity review: Blame it (mostly) on the source material

My film of the week is Extra Geography, a wonderful comedy that captures the messiness of growing up and growing apart. It's a hilarious, awkward, well-observed and relatable portrayal of two friends drifting apart. In cinemas today. Review: missflicks.com/2026/10/02/e...

While watching Digger, I felt a mixture of amusement, frustration, revulsion and bafflement. What the heck is this weird, loud and off-putting mess? I respect an ambitious swing and Tom Cruise taking on his riskiest character yet, but this gamble doesn't pay off. missflicks.com/2026/10/01/d...

Hope is epic, awesome and ambitious. The first hour absolutely rocks and the action setpieces are brilliant. Sure, it's a bit too long, the ending isn't great and the CGI is poor, but who cares when you're having this much fun?! Review: missflicks.com/2026/09/28/h...

Bad Apples, starring the excellent Saoirse Ronan as a teacher who takes matters into her own hands with a student, is twisted, bonkers and hilarious (in a very dark way). It really tapped into my sense of humour, so I had a great time. Review: missflicks.com/2026/09/17/b...

Resident Evil is funny and horrifying in equal measure and gets crazier as it goes along. Video game fans may be disappointed with the original story and new characters, but this is an entertaining entry in the Resident Evil universe. missflicks.com/2026/09/16/r...

Fall 2 is nowhere near as good as the original. The writing and character development are weak and it looks quite cheap at times. However, the setting is cool, the tension and threat is built well and those risky survival moments are nail-biting. In cinemas today. missflicks.com/2026/09/09/f...

It's a delight to see Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman back together in Practical Magic 2. Their chemistry and charm carry the film. But the script is terrible, there isn't enough comedy, and Maisie Williams is wasted. In cinemas Friday. Review: missflicks.com/2026/09/08/p...

Leviticus is an intense romance-slash-horror with a lot to say. The excellent Joe Bird really sells the stakes and terror, and Stacy Clausen nails the two different versions of his character. It wasn't as scary as I expected, but I liked it a lot. In cinemas now. missflicks.com/2026/09/02/l...

Ridley Scott's post-apocalyptic drama, The Dog Stars, is such a gentle slow-burner that I fear people may walk out/switch it off before they get to the good stuff. The opening act is slow, but your patience will be rewarded with some really great, exciting setpieces. missflicks.com/2026/08/26/t...
