Hannah Al-Othman @hannahalothman.bsky.social · 10/10/2026That’s an amazing cake! Yep I very much feel this is me for life now 🤣 Especially as my husband is coeliac, so unless I make them he won’t be able to have a slice 😢 They’re never going to look as professional as shop bought ones, (and it probably ends up costing more!), but homemade are the best ❤️ 110
Hannah Al-Othman @hannahalothman.bsky.social · 10/10/2026I make all of the birthday cakes in our family and after four birthdays in three months, I can’t quite believe I’m done for the year! 🎂😅 3570

Hannah Al-Othman @hannahalothman.bsky.social · 04/10/2026Started feeling ill on Thursday and basically haven’t left the house all weekend 😩 Feel like I may now be coming out the other side, but it’s been grim! 020
Hannah Al-Othman @hannahalothman.bsky.social · 04/10/2026Anyone else got this Labour conference cold? 🥀🤧 It’s a bad one 😩🦠 110
Hannah Al-Othman @hannahalothman.bsky.social · 04/10/2026Difficult times for those of us who have made going to Glastonbury our whole personality. 050
Hannah Al-Othman @hannahalothman.bsky.social · 04/10/2026(We once got back from holiday and my husband picked up a letter and said “it says on his majesty’s service, I think you’ve got jury duty!” Reader: it was from the ONS 😢) 190
Hannah Al-Othman @hannahalothman.bsky.social · 04/10/2026Great news for society, but also for me personally. (I am desperate to do jury service.) www.theguardian.com/law/2026/oct...theguardian.comMinisters drop plans to cut jury trials in England and Wales after outcryCritics say scrapping of plans, which aimed to increase judge-alone trials to deliver swifter justice, leaves court system and victims vulnerable 251
Hannah Al-Othman @hannahalothman.bsky.social · 04/10/2026It was a shame not to get Glastonbury tickets, but I am comforted by the fact that a lot of people I dislike didn’t get them either 🙏🏽 081
Hannah Al-Othman @hannahalothman.bsky.social · 04/10/2026It’s so weird watching instagram stories when you’re home sick. This person is drinking cocktails! This one is out for dinner? This one is at A GIG! Meanwhile I can’t conceive of even leaving the house. 2100
Hannah Al-Othman @hannahalothman.bsky.social · 04/10/2026The new Glastonbury ticket system is undoubtedly fairer, and objectively a good thing. But it has disadvantaged me personally, and therefore I must say I hate it. 1230
Hannah Al-Othman @hannahalothman.bsky.social · 21/09/2026You assume incorrectly. In the main luggage rack, where I can reach it, which is what this whole conversation has been about. 000
Hannah Al-Othman @hannahalothman.bsky.social · 21/09/2026Literally this whole conversation has been about putting it on the luggage rack. Keep up! 110
Hannah Al-Othman @hannahalothman.bsky.social · 15/09/2026I loved the south. Gjirokaster and Ksamil were my two favourite places! 100
Hannah Al-Othman @hannahalothman.bsky.social · 15/09/2026Just like everybody else, I’ve just got back from Albania, and I can see why everyone is going. It’s quite the place. 2190
Hannah Al-Othman @hannahalothman.bsky.social · 30/08/2026Maybe I want access to my bag and don’t want to have to keep asking people to get it up and down?! I’ll continue to store it whe it is accessible to me. 100
Hannah Al-Othman @hannahalothman.bsky.social · 30/08/2026Yeah, my husband is 6 foot, so not even that unusually tall but I’ve seen it from the other side too. He can reach supermarket shelves, but planes / trains can be uncomfortable, and for every time I can’t see at a gig, there’s someone having a go at him for blocking their view! 010
Hannah Al-Othman @hannahalothman.bsky.social · 30/08/2026I don’t think there’s a huge amount they can do about it really 😩 I also have to find staff to help me get stuff down from the tallest supermarket shelves. Being short is hardly the biggest hardship in life, but just pointed it out as it may not have occurred to taller people. 100
Hannah Al-Othman @hannahalothman.bsky.social · 30/08/2026I think the issue is if someone moved it without checking I wouldn’t be able to see it in the rack and would probably think it’d been stolen. People have in the past offered to put a bag up for me and get it down again at the end of the journey, and that’s fine and welcome! 010
Hannah Al-Othman @hannahalothman.bsky.social · 30/08/2026I’m sure Liam just didn’t think about this when he responded to that post. But hopefully the original poster (and other tall people reading this) will think twice about doing it again after hopefully realising it’s not necessarily stupidity or selfishness, but often out of sheer necessity! 110
Hannah Al-Othman @hannahalothman.bsky.social · 30/08/2026Well yes, I don’t think many would argue with you on that! Putting bags on seats while people are standing is obviously unacceptable. But just pointing out that some of us use the luggage compartment for smaller bags to avoid doing just that. Wish I was tall enough to reach the overhead storage 😔😩😭 030
Hannah Al-Othman @hannahalothman.bsky.social · 30/08/2026Yeah if its a handbag etc I’ll keep it on my knee, but l often I have a couple, and especially if it’s busy and all the seats are full, I would put a smallish rucksack that would fit in the overhead rack in the luggage storage because I can’t reach the overheads. Suspect many women do the same. 160
Hannah Al-Othman @hannahalothman.bsky.social · 30/08/2026Maybe it wasn’t a stupid person, it was just a… woman?? 020
Hannah Al-Othman @hannahalothman.bsky.social · 30/08/2026Yep. And I think I’d also be really stressed assuming it’d be stolen, because I can’t see into the overhead racks! 130
Hannah Al-Othman @hannahalothman.bsky.social · 30/08/2026This is tall privilege! I actually cannot reach the overhead racks to store my bag there, so if someone did this to me I’d be furious! 4150
Hannah Al-Othman @hannahalothman.bsky.social · 21/08/2026I was in Barnsley and Penistone a couple of weeks ago, and there was a sense that people were much more open to Labour than they had been just a few months ago: www.theguardian.com/politics/202...theguardian.com‘Let’s see what he can do’: will Burnham bring voters back in Labour heartlands? With questions over Farage’s finances and a new face in No 10, could Barnsley council be a bellwether for changing Labour fortunes? 050

Hannah Al-Othman @hannahalothman.bsky.social · 16/08/2026Yes, I’m really lucky that they didn’t take the whole bag and everything in it! 011
Hannah Al-Othman @hannahalothman.bsky.social · 16/08/2026I have sourced a replacement strap (thanks to excellent customer service from All Saints), and a local leathersmith who can fit it, so all is not lost. This wasn’t an outcome I ever expected after leaving my bag outside, but apparently it’s not the first time a fox has done similar, so now we know. 160
Hannah Al-Othman @hannahalothman.bsky.social · 16/08/2026So last weekend I left my bag in the garden in London and a fox 🦊 chewed up the strap?! It cut it clean in half. I learned a lesson the hard way, but apparently foxes absolutely love leather? So in case it saves anyone else’s shoes/bag/jacket: never leave your leather goods outdoors. 240

Hannah Al-Othman @hannahalothman.bsky.social · 05/08/2026This one of my favourite recipes of all time, and one of my husband’s too. I cannot recommend it highly enough, and thank you for bringing it into our lives! 170
