IMO just pay for it from the Treasury purse like Health and Defence, and detach it from households/individuals completely. BUT it also needs to revert back to "inform, educate, entertain".

Paying for the BBC should be compulsory for all households, preferably through taxation. It's a state service which includes radio. Even people without a TV generally listen to the radio.

I always felt the same about this... I vote for my local candidate, and expect them to represent me and have a voice in parliament. The party they represent see it as voting for their party. If they win, they push the party agenda. My vote is hijacked for the party, and my voice with it.

Mike drop 🎤 very much agree! And a personal beef... an unpopular one I fear... Red Nose Day, Children In Need, The London Marathon, Glastonbury, Wilmbledon, and many more. These are VERY BIG businesses and dedicating the BBC to promoting these commercial activities is wrong.
