Elusive Samurai S2 does feel like a bit of a holding pattern to set up for Things Going Down in the presumably happening third season but it makes up for it by just Having Fun With It as an adaptation and doing all sorts of weird little mixed media stuff just because they can.

For whatever reason my Grandpa seems to like watching this australian border security show on TV and like 2/3 of every episode is people getting pulled up for not declaring food so there's lots of dramatic cuts where the guy is all "Oh fuck what's this"

Yeah this wasn't good. There's some genuinely interesting elements in there with the meta relationship with Cosprayers but it doesn't do enough with them to justify what is otherwise boring at best and occasionally just kind of unpleasant since Ikuta's staff are constantly sexually harassing her.

It has been a very long time but my enduring memory of Rizelmine is that it resolved its love triangle by having the childhood friend character fall in love with a dog instead.

Perhaps I'm jumping to conclusions there given the only other one of these I've seen is Rizelmine (which is bad) but this is not the most distinguished set of anime.

There's definitely Something to the concept of these two shows to the point where I am sort of willing to concede that maybe Cosprayers was in fact bad in order to set up for this. The problem is for that to work the next layer up cannot also be bad and this is dogshit.

Yeah Cosprayers isn't very good but within the context of the series I kinda dig the movie (it is 10 minutes long + a 4 minute trailer) as like, a jab at ill conceived sequel movies. On the other hand that does require giving it the benefit of the doubt and assuming it's doing that on purpose.

Oh damnit. An animator/musician I've been following for years has started doing AI music for whatever reason. They did upload a fairly suspicious song a while back that didn't have a vocalist credited when they'd previously been good about that and quickly privated but they came out and said it now.
