I got my new freaky Five Fingers today and they fit pretty well.

My feet, resting on the bed, wearing a new pair of Vibram Five Fingers toe shoes. Model name “MEGAGRIP” they are sort of a brown/burgundy color.

Things have been trying lately. Our power utility, DTE, in lieu of updating the grid- sent a crew of “arborists” into our neighborhood to engage in a mass slaughter of our trees. Which is good- as they are bit of a mess. But… they also slaughtered our fiber optic cable. So we were without Internet.

More shortwave radio nerdity. These are two of four cards issued by Radio Berlin International in 1979, commemorating the 30th anniversary of the GDR. I only got the last two. I was probably too busy being a somewhat miserable 15 year old at the time. Reception on 8/25/79 and 8/27/79.

This morning I had the best medical appointment, ever. In 30 minutes (which started before my stated appointment time), I got x-rays, consulted with the doc in a meaningful way, and got a steroid shot. And was reassured that I can resume all of my walking activities. Faster than I could get a pizza.
