It occurs to me this comic might not be as widespread as I thought and so when someone asks “how are you doing” the response “im dying squirtle” is a teeny bit confusing

Brad and I go to a lot of events, so in order to make that financially viable, we do what we can to save money where we can. We've found some really great ways to save money on food while we're traveling. It isn't the most glamorous way to travel, but here are some of the ways we save money!

Order groceries for at least some of your meals!
Most hotels have a mini fridge, but not all have a microwave. Keep this in mind as you make your selections.
We love buying things to make sandwiches!
(Don't forget things like utensils, plastic bags, etc to make your life easier.)

Buy a mini insulated pouch/lunch box to take with you to the convention to keep your food items cool.
This one fits easily in a backpack, and can easily fit a sandwich + a water bottle or two.
It's nice to not have to go back to the hotel at lunch time!

Find easy/healthy breakfast options that are easy to store in your hotel fridge.
We LOVE Oats Over Night. These come in plastic bottles, but you can also get single-serve envelopes with a reusable shaker bottle. Just add water and BAM you've got a healthy and filling breakfast.

Skip expensive energy drinks and/or craft coffee beverages in the mornings with a great quality instant coffee. Starbucks VIA is actually really delicious for instant, and you can brew it cold!

Easy (and cheap) caffeine. Huzzah.

I got this Bird Champ at the Unknown event today and I love him so.

A Magic the Gathering card called The Bird Champion which costs 2 colorless, 2 green mana, 2 blue mana and has 9 attack and 9 toughness. Its a legendary Bird Wizard with the text
