Nearing 40 hours in and I've almost reached the last fight with Ganryu. Excellent game but definitely too long. #OnimushaWayOftheSword

I will watch it at home one day and I'd love to love it.

010

Neil @h0rr0r0fdracula.bsky.social · 14h

Agreed. The end of Tropic Thunder but over an unbearable length

100

Neil @h0rr0r0fdracula.bsky.social · 14h

And I'm a big fan of Cruise putting in serious acting effort but I think this performance isn't what I wanted. Think more Magnolia, instead of whatever the trailer showed

100

Neil @h0rr0r0fdracula.bsky.social · 15h

Neither of those. Im definitely receptive to the message also. I really don't know

200

Neil @h0rr0r0fdracula.bsky.social · 15h

The trailer was so off-putting. I like Cruise. I like Iñárritu. I wasn't enticed.

200

Neil @h0rr0r0fdracula.bsky.social · 15h

SO good. I may actually park GTA until this is finished. It needs attention

100

Neil @h0rr0r0fdracula.bsky.social · 19h

I just wanted a modern treatment of the original game.

100

Neil @h0rr0r0fdracula.bsky.social · 19h

What i expected. Can't wait

Neil @h0rr0r0fdracula.bsky.social · 14/10/2026

'Kneel before the master.' Excellent

000

Neil @h0rr0r0fdracula.bsky.social · 13/10/2026

Barlow is the weakest thing about this adaptation. So far at least. All the other vampires have been more frightening #SalemsLot (1979)

100

Neil @h0rr0r0fdracula.bsky.social · 13/10/2026

That's a whole lotta trouble for David Soul

110

Neil @h0rr0r0fdracula.bsky.social · 13/10/2026

Watching the second half of Salem's Lot. So far most of the vampire attacks would have been thwarted if people just pulled their curtains at night.... Excellent stuff so far.

Regardless, they offer a sense of ownership and something that can be bought and sold on the second hand market and thst has value.

Neil @h0rr0r0fdracula.bsky.social · 13/10/2026

You're not wrong that things are complicated by disks that dont have a complete edition of a game on them; it is a fact thought that over 90% of disks still have a playable version of a game on them.

110

Neil @h0rr0r0fdracula.bsky.social · 13/10/2026

It seems as though they are deliberately ignoring valid usage cases to try and maximise profit in gaming. The bottom line being valuesld more than the consumer or brand identity. It may pay off but if gamers lose the long built connection with them, they may go elsewhere

010

Neil @h0rr0r0fdracula.bsky.social · 13/10/2026

Exactly. It's going to be really interesting...

100

Neil @h0rr0r0fdracula.bsky.social · 13/10/2026

I'm genuinely angry at Sony for killing the brand at the alter of profit. Xbox was long past it's good days, terrible in fact; keeping disks however STILL makes the platform more desirable for me

110

Neil @h0rr0r0fdracula.bsky.social · 13/10/2026

Once Microsoft do the same next gen then both companies will be on a level playing field for me, but if one offers disks when the other doesn't? No brainer.

Neil @h0rr0r0fdracula.bsky.social · 13/10/2026

My strategy from 2028 will be to buy any game that is available on Series X on a disk, but only digital on PS5, on the former. Playstation needs to be frightened. If they can release a $350 PS5 then you know it's a choice based on greed to cancel disks. Fuck them. youtu.be/bCJla9Q6TqI?...

This is very much the plan!

000

Neil @h0rr0r0fdracula.bsky.social · 13/10/2026

And tbh, I've very little real concern about labels, the films can be whatever you wish.

Neil @h0rr0r0fdracula.bsky.social · 13/10/2026

I've definitely felt fear from Giallo. I'd warrant you are in a very small group who feel the way you do. It's not a criticism anyway, the above call out was with a smile. I find it genuinely intriguing that you have this opinion. There's probably a good essay you could write about it and I'd read.

100

Neil @h0rr0r0fdracula.bsky.social · 13/10/2026

If you think the 'is Suspiria a Giallo' debate is contentious, try @arghzombies.com and his assertion that Giallo isn't horror...

Second half tonight. Shits getting real

I only read the book a couple of years back and I thought it was excellent. This is highly recommended

30 mins in and i definitely haven't seen this. Must have seen clips on docs only. Obviously a TV film but great atmosphere

First full watch of Salem's Lot (1979)...

Gutted I can't see the latter

You've a mixture of big name directors and indies, right? Hope it picks up

Neil @h0rr0r0fdracula.bsky.social · 12/10/2026

How's LFF so far. First of my screenings is Fatherland on Thursday as I've been away. Nice switch of pace to see ome film a day for four straight days. Your programme is a lot busier I'm guessing

200

Neil @h0rr0r0fdracula.bsky.social · 12/10/2026

I'd have Wii behind N64, Gamecube and SNES

200

Neil @h0rr0r0fdracula.bsky.social · 12/10/2026

I never had the pleasure of trying them out. Switch/Switch2 have a huge library of bangers, 2 playing all of those for 1 also.

200

Neil @h0rr0r0fdracula.bsky.social · 12/10/2026

$600m is quite good for thst series isn't it? How many in the series made €1b? But I take your point, it's not massive. The reception tocrhe previous film did not help and Cruise can't have been happy about the extent to which they dropped the ball after Fallout

100

Neil @h0rr0r0fdracula.bsky.social · 12/10/2026

Wii Sports was a banger but this was easily my least favourite Nintendo console (I never tried/owned a Wii U).

210

Neil @h0rr0r0fdracula.bsky.social · 12/10/2026

I didnt know the final Mission struggled to get bums on seat. I was put off by reviews/the previous film and still haven't caught it, but assumed the masses would eat it up

It's good to know that it may be a common pain, felt by many.

Neil @h0rr0r0fdracula.bsky.social · 12/10/2026

I've added two more prints to the three I have had needing to be framed for a number of years. It's nigh on time for me to bite the bullet and take an expensive trip to the framers

210

Neil @h0rr0r0fdracula.bsky.social · 12/10/2026

It was good to chat briefly, day one, outside of the cinema before it opened. I'm already planning a return
