as someone who lives in pasadena I can personally report there is also a different building in pasadena that looks strikingly like la porte indiana’s courthouse

St. Andrew’s Church in pasadena, similarly to the indiana courthouse building it features a large brick clock tower turret and a plentitude of archways

#FunFactFriday When animals are sexually dimorphic (meaning different sexes look so different from each other they could come from a different species), sometimes nature makes a genetic mashup of sexes in one individual, called a ✨gynandromorph✨. They’re on the rarer side & very cool to see! 🧡🦋🏳️‍🌈

A round blue sticker on a green background. The sticker has an Eastern Tiger Swallowtail butterfly gynandromorph, the left half yellow (like males of the species) and the right half brown (like females of the species). The caption says “gynandromorphs for gender diversity”. Not all gynandromorphs are so equally split but some are!

may I offer a pic of this sweet kitty who came up to me on my walk the other day to demand scritches? not a cure for chronic pain but helpful to the soul at least maybe 🧡

photo of a white and gray cat with a patch of black the end of its tail. It’s sitting on its side on the sidewalk looking off into the distance, seemingly calm but also ready at a moment’s notice to hop up and rub on your legs if you chose to not pay attention to it in all its splendor

Meet Rosie! She was the gentlest tarantula I’ve ever met. Back in college I introduced her to a large number of kids through the entomology department’s insect zoo. She was super popular for a good reason— she was an absolute sweetheart! 🧡🧡🧡

A smiling human looking down at a handful of tarantula, the spider’s legs posed comfortably around the human’s fingers.

Ya gotta getcha some blue light lenses! Mind are comically large for me but they give me cozy professor vibes lol

Photo of Giselle Fernandez wearing a pair of oversized circular brown glasses that have a blue sheen to them, as they have been coated to protect the eyes from blue light.

They are also wearing a greenish turtleneck with a roomy collar that has an up-and-down zig-zag pattern on the textile.

In case you needed yet another reason to not shop at Target. This pretty well cements I’m never going back.

News article about changes Target is making in response to losing profits from the boycott. Highlighted quote states that Target is to “launch an OpenAI partnership with ChatGPT app next week”.

It follows to say that shares are down 35% this year.

he’s a little late to the snail party but he rushed here as fast as he could! Giant African land snail I came across in Ecuador 🐌

A giant African land snail sitting in greenery on the forest floor, a full human hand sitting atop its shell to show the scale (the snail is much larger than the hand).

The facts calendars are wonderful! I’m personally enjoying my favourite t-shirt so much I’ve ended up getting copies for some family and friends too… Orders are back up for two more weeks, you say? 👀

Smiling selfie with a black tshirt that says “Biology is Bigger than Binaries” with a white and orange design displaying a bee, a clownfish, and a lily (three easy examples in nature one can point to that demonstrate the words printed on the shirt).

Sometimes projects I work on send me fun merch of characters I’ve voiced— like for Bratz, Rainbow High, and Cookie Run! Other times, friends see stuff out in the wild and get em for me. Shoutout to @kevinariveravo.bsky.social for adding these new Princess & Baby Daisy plushies to my collection! 🧡🚘

I HAVE A NEW PRINT OF TWEYEN AVAILABLE AND I LOVE IT!!!! Please everyone look at this beautiful artwork by Usanekorin over at @collateralds.com Granblue fans who want a copy can preorder on my streamily! I’ll be signing next week on the 23rd ❤️🎉✨

Artwork of Tweyen from Granblue Fantasy: Relink.
Tweyen is in an action pose, holding her bow and arrow out in front of her with a grin on her face.
The color palette is very bright and dynamic with purples and blues as the background and cape colour.
Tweyen’s hair is swirling in the air around her. It looks as if the viewer is slightly below Tweyen looking up at her from an angle as she either descends upon them or ascends from them. Both knees have a slight bend, and one leg is bent behind the other. She is fully in the air, and her high heels are immaculate, as though they’ve never met the ground.

Meet a coupla my booth buddies! ❤️✨ Katy the Katydid and Cole the Coleopteran keep me company whenever I record from home. Even though I’m not a working entomologist I still try to keep insects around however I can 🥰🐞
