After dropping the third set 26-24, No. 5 Dayton responds by winning the fourth 25-10 to earn a 3-1 victory over South Carolina. Almodovar recorded 22 kills, 4 aces and 13 digs. The Flyers hit .312 with 11 aces. Whitesides also had 22 kills to pace the Gamecocks.

No. 4 Purdue is pushed by Western Michigan but earns a 21, 23, 22 sweep. WMU led 23-21 in the second set, but Purdue closed on a 4-0 run. Hudson finished with 21 kills at a .455 clip and 5 blocks. Chicoine had 12 kills. The Boilermakers hit .387 and will play Loyola on Friday.
