From Lira: Look. I have mentioned before that we Chimerical Beings are not meant to dream. My rest-from-the-world space should be blank oblivion, and that’s how I like it. I am not super happy when something like this happens (again), but here we go. Again. I couldn’t sleep.Feel the irony. Jaysus, what makes that kind of racket in the wee small hours?

from Gwyneth: As you know, my darlings, I speak to The Author often. Rarely, she asks me to do something for her in the Realm that involves something from her life. It’s been a while since she asked for this, and so I was inclined to indulge her when she came to me just yesterday. “Go up,” she said, “to the little tor on Island Four (can you not find a better name for that one, Gwyneth?), and find us something to send off in tribute to my beautiful friend Kathy, whose soul passed from my Realm a few days ago.

From Gwyneth: When I finally awoke, it was either night again, or the being who created this pocket universe just really likes night. Could be either. I felt rested, but stiff, largely due to the unwieldy wings. Stretching them was a joy, though. Before sleep, I’d tried the usual tricks to remove wings (since I mostly wear them only for ceremonial purposes) and received nothing in return for my trouble.

From Gwyneth: Still nights were not afforded me. Oh night, I skipped the bitter sleep of queens, and straight to dreaming went as if the cosmos summoned me from somewhere else. How like a sprite. How like a living twinkle of a light. How like a light across a galaxy of light. How like a light. And nowhere was there darkness: nowhere was there any space not lit but to define the bright, no secret-stuffed pockets, no landscape light forgot, no corner overlooked left to decay — and yet the light was not the same bright always; I saw there shadows everywhere for things that thrived in shadow, and the cosmos built itself of light and shadow every new: there was no time; there was no breath; we watchers (there were many) stretched invisibly across the cosmos, seeking nothing and observing all.

From Lira: I’m not too proud to say I cannot be bothered to learn much about popular music, so I keep my radio tuned to DragonPop and hope for the best. The tiny bubble tub in the back garden was taken away, but TAC replaced it with a larger one. It is larger. It is larger, but it looks a bit like a well bucket.

From Gwyneth: Let me be clear: My Prince Consort is a genius beyond compare. Not only is he the love of my life and the light of my eyes, he is a formidable warrior when armed with an abacus, and, more recently, a duly licensed copy of Microsoft Office. As with most things, it started out as an ordinary day, even a good day.

From Cherish Gelato: As you know, Dear Readers, I have been away for some time! But nothing stops your intrepid editor from learning the real truth and sharing it with you, my loyal and supportive supporters. I first learned of today's subject, Lira, through some backchannel gossip I picked up at the Great Faire, because of course you know the best gossip is always at the Fantasy Faire.

From Lira: You may not be aware of this, but Chimerical Librarians (and I would assume other Chimerical creatures) are not meant to dream. In fact, there is debate as to whether we need sleep at all. I like sleep, and so I do sleep, but there is in fact an entire Chimerical rabbit hole in which I would spend the entirety of this post rabbiting (see what I did there?) about whether or not I sleep or just think I sleep or in fact just lie down with my eyes closed and think about absolutely nothing for hours on end, which would in fact describe most of the humans I have met in my short lifespan.

From Fridros: It's Change. That's the only constant. My pabbi used to say that, and I'm pretty sure he got it from his pabbi. And since you can find it or some permutation of it, I can feel confident they did not invent it but got it from others, as well. By Blossom Peasley and Veronica Gumm Blossom: My mum is a seamstress. And she works for Veronica's mum. Veronica is so cool; she's the coolest girl I have ever met, and I would do anything to be her friend. But faeries don't go to the same schools as human kids do: it's against the law. We have special schools, which for me means I have lessons four times a week with my auntie Tulip Peasley, my three cousins (her sons), and the tinker's kid, who has the unfortunate name of Mathblad Cornerstone.

From Lira: Today is the Summer Solstice, so I headed over to the Midsummer Enchantment shopping faire. It's always beautiful, and I love summer. There were some gorgeous things to see, and, of course, buy! Right from the start, I felt more beautiful. I ran into the Hexumbra Faedragons almost as soon as I paid my ticket fee and made my way inside the faire.

From Friðrós: I caught Wulfrich singing the other day. I guess I hadn't thought that he'd have a great singing voice, but he kind of does. It was kind of a furry voice, I guess? Like the sort of voice a bear or a wolf would have if they could sing the way humans and elves sing. That probably doesn't make any sense.

From Lira: I've never lived in a house with a name before. But after TAC explained that in fact I was not qualified to be a secret dragon agent (I disagree), and after we determined I did not want to go back to Awenia just yet (because I said I'd rather not), she offered me a job and a place to live.
