It may seem strange to folks outside of academia, but there has been a line of prominent research within it arguing that misinformation isn't a problem. This paper pushes back, noting how those arguments often rely on poor definitions & operationalizations of what misinformation is & how it works.

A look at the supplemental material shows: Germany is one of those countries where the pattern holds true: 📉 declining TV news use + 📈 rising social media news consumption = 📉 declining trust. But: Germans' social media news use remains among lowest in studied countries (only Japan lower).

Ich bin tagtägl. erstaunt, wie ich schon jetzt bei Recherche und Verifikation von KI-Tools profitiere. Es gibt aber auch regelm. Unfälle, die die Schwächen der Systeme aufzeigen. Hier ein Bsp., bei dem Perplexity ein paar Dinge durcheinander bringt - ich hatte nach dem Spähprogramm Cerebro gefragt.

Referrals von Social Media auf journ. Inhalte auf krasser Talfahrt (www.axios.com/2023/10/03/s... das führt zu einem immer größeren digital divide. Wer sich vorrangig auf Plattformen informiert, sieht immer weniger Journalismus. Scheint mir in Anbetracht jüngster pol. Tendenzen ein zentraler Trend.
