Walking routes on Google Maps do what I call "US time"; it's how long it takes someone from the US to walk somewhere. Minus 5-7 mins off walking time to account for a theoretical US person who has to either pause to catch their breath every 1/4 mile, or walk 3 miles out of their way because *CARS*

There's a few local shop units scattered around where I live. Recently one became vacant and when shopfitters began work I looked forward to us maybe getting something nice or useful. What are we getting? A TANNING SHOP. In a local residential area that could do with a few new amenities.

Yeah, so the 2010s were a long referendum on whether we should 1) be reasonable and decent people, and invest in infrastructure and services, or whether we were going to 2) be abysmal horrible bastards and let the island slide into the sea. I’m afraid politicians and press unified on 2).

- Elite consensus moves to lower aid spending
- Shift in attitudes on migration & refugees.

Is this a global phenomenon? Maybe but equally other countries have legalised AD in same time period. Even in US states continue to legalise e.g. cannabis, ditto Germany, omething that feels a long way off here in UK.
So there does appear to be something particular to Britain.

So we're pretty much a week into the #Fender lawfare against small guitar builders, and their marketing team is just continuing despite their comments being a flaming dumpster fire. Every influential guitarist on YouTube has made a video about it. Fender have lost an incredible amount of goodwill.

The comments on a recent Fender post is almost entirely negative.

On election night where I live, a girl who won a Reform seat was overheard by one of our people freaking out because she won when she was told she wouldn't by her dad. Someone from another party had to explain to her what a councillor does, what it involves, that you need to attend meetings etc.

I've always had the opinion that academic success doesn't always mean smart or possesing common sense. My wife told me about a housemate who was doing a *MASTERS* the same time as she was. Said person used the sandwich toaster, then put it in the washing bowl to soak. Take from that what you will.

Just bought one of Marshall's new amp in a box overdrive pedals - the 1959, which is based on the classic Plexi tone amp. It's a beautiful looking pedal and sounds amazing. I've got other great overdrive pedals based on classic Marshall amps and this was half the price.
