In case it’s not obvious, and frankly, even if it is obvious, I am disgusted by the Cornell 7. All of them, including the ones who were on the text chain AND the administrators who were enabling all of this to be swept aside are morally and criminally responsible. Women deserve better!

I’m interested in hearing Bluesky’s thoughts: Why do we have the national anthem played before sporting events? I know the historical whys and wherefores, but why do we continue it? Does our flimsy patriotism rely so heavily on such pæans? If every new iteration stirs anger, why bother with it?

I’ll say this though: Watching the Skycast of the Louisville vs Ole Miss game and I do not miss AT ALL the yammering. I could do with more than just the one camera, but I’ll live if it means I don’t have to hear non-stop BS throughout the game.
