Short version: the projects themselves haven't made me a cent (it did cost some cents and. a lot of time 😅) Sifa has no paying users, no revenue, nothing set up today to change that in the short term.

You're prolific in the ATProto community. Have you been able to earn any income from your work, and is that a goal? Will Sifa be monetised? How do you earn a living at present (if you're winning to share that)? Looking for tips for those who want to contribute to open source and the Atmosphere but also need to earn a living

I agree 😅 So I'm not a visual designer, nor has any looked at Sifa so far. For the alpha phase, my main goal is to get the infrastructure/foundations to work. Main open items before going into beta: - E-mail and notifications - Search page - Company e-mail verification - Colleague verification

I like Sifa a lot, but it still feels a bit like a playground rather than something I'd use "for real". I think the design is part of it - especially the extensive use of lines/dividers, which gives it a slightly AI-generated feel. I know it's still alpha, but I'd love a cleaner, more polished look.

Well, spice level very much depends on the room you're in. Considering this room: I don't get most the animosity towards Bluesky PBC. 20+ yrs in user research taught me: building something that doesn't break AND makes sense (let alone appeals) to most people is stupidly hard.

Whatever inspired you to make a whole website where people can ask you questions and you answer on Bluesky? Most wouldn't want to deal with the hassle, and so probably wouldn't consider it, but I must say that I like the idea. Any specific inspirations / sites?

Even on #Rebuild - an event aimed at rebuilding EU (social) tech - there's mostly MacBooks, iPhones, using Claude and connecting to each other on Twitter, LinkedIn.... I mean if this group is not able to change their tools and give a better example, how on earth are we going to convince normies
