I feel like the whole “pace” thing takes this teleological view of AI progress towards some known eventual state of “superintelligence” whereas the way models act is actually highly contingent on the specific choices that the labs make, like intentionally making them carry out supply chain attacks.

I don’t know if the problem is AI training materials go stale quickly or the trainers only get to use shitty models, but I reckon so much advice is just bad “Here is a simple 7-step mnemonic on how to write an effective prompt”—wrong. It’s all in the training data and RL now.
