OH and Flaws!!! ive played a few RPGs that allow the player to take on permanent debuffs to get other perks or upgrade points, but having them naturally occur over the course of the game made the character building feel a smidge more organic. And sometimes you get new/funny dialogue options

One of my favorite aspects of the game is all the little tucked away treasures hidden around the maps for players who like to explore every nook and climb on top of every elevated surface. They expanded on this in Avowed by making the chests emit a faint twinkling sound when you're near them.

The writing is stellar. The game mostly suffers from half-baked RPG mechanics and an extremely repetitive gameplay loop with little diversity in rewards or character building options, paired with a lot of dull empty space.

sometimes they say what you need to hear without really knowing

a comic drawn in ink and watercolor:

a red coyote sits at a table, beer in paw, with some friends, including a blue raccoon.

the coyote is nervously thinking to itself, "How do I know if my friends really like me?"

it floats in midair as it further dissociates, "Is any of this even real?"

it is snapped out of its trance by a call, "Hey!"

the blue raccoon is smiling at it. neither says a word.

the blue raccoon's smile grows, looking somewhat sinister. the coyote stammers, "Wh-what?"
