Third talk of the day! @marcysutton.com is talking about Accessibility and Performance. I absolutely love this topic, it’s so close to my heart! ❤️ #perfnow

Marcy on the stage. Behind her, a slide with the following text:

Accessibility meets performance:
How quickly a website loads when users can't see it, becomes interactive, and responds to user actions.
It encompasses both the objective, measurable accessibility of a page and the user's subjective perception of that experience.

Day 1! First talk by @tammyeverts.com. How fast is fast enough? #perfnow

Tammy on the PerfNow stage. Behind her, a slide reads as follows:

Fast is magical.
Fast eliminates cognitive friction. Raycast surfacing the right application before you finish typing feels like an extension of your mind. Superhuman's sub-100ms rule—plus their focus on keyboard shortcuts-changed the email game in a way that no one's been able to replicate, let alone beat. I recently used Mercury to pay another business that uses Mercury, and its instant settle felt surprising in a world where bank transfers usually take days.

A 673 ms LCP is not terrible, but it could be better. I guess this LLM was trained using @timvereecke.bsky.social's Scalemates results 😂

Today marks the end of an amazing chapter in my career: my last day at Schneider Electric. I joined the company ~3 years ago, and I could never have imagined how much I would learn, grow, and achieve. This experience has truly shaped me, and I will always be grateful. But new year, new adventure!

I had a blast at #sclzurich event! It was great to see old friends, make new ones and meet @johnmu.com and @divingfor.fun in person! I have to check my notes to write down some highlights of the event. But for now, printing a T-shirt with this on it would save me from repeating it countless times!

John Mueller on stage presenting a slide with the following text:

Page Experience & Core Web Vitals
• Interaction to Next Paint (INP) replaces FID in Core Web Vitals
• Don't over-focus on them.

Remember, kids: Don't over-focus on Page Experience and Core Web Vitals! It’s not the most important ranking factor.
