Gryneos @gryneos.bsky.social · 08/10/2026Spent all day at my clinical trial, so I'm dead tired. Only to get home to find that a scheduled power outage seems to have shut down our Internet connection. Our IT guy seems to be MIA (I know him, and think he might be sick from office-bldg a/c). Abysmal speeds right now: 000

Gryneos @gryneos.bsky.social · 28/09/2026I remember Nitzer Ebb. Back in the 90s, I volunteered being a dj on a Pacifica station, and made friends with people who industrial & noise shows. However, the only industrial act live I've seen was Caspar Brotzmann. Not sure how Crash Worship is categorized, but did see them :-) 010
Gryneos @gryneos.bsky.social · 28/09/2026This is my smallish collection of industrial music. Haven't listened to it much lately, but might do so again. What's interesting to me about Front Line Assembly is that they also produced one of my favorite trance bands: Delerium 😀 110
Gryneos @gryneos.bsky.social · 28/09/2026Wow, someone I know who likes Front 242! Can't say I've ever seen the video, but it also reminds me of the Japanese film "Tetsuo The Iron Man". Now, how about the other "Front"-industrial band: Front Line Assembly 😎 110
Gryneos @gryneos.bsky.social · 28/09/2026Not Houston. Everyone thinks we're just an oil town, or that we have some insurance/financial and NASA stuff, but most don't seem to know we have the largest medical center in the world here. 120k employees, and 12mil visitors per year. They are currently treating my kidney disease. 000

Gryneos @gryneos.bsky.social · 26/09/2026A question for my urbanist friends: When roadway construction takes place in European countries, are the workers from construction companies, or are they government employees? Gryneos @gryneos.bsky.social · 22/09/2026I recall back in the early 1980s seeing little ads in Astronomy magazine for handheld 500,000 candlepower spotlights (NASA spinoff tech). I wonder if illuminating the space around you would help them see you in those conditions 😅 000
Gryneos @gryneos.bsky.social · 22/09/2026A power-bank can be used for the motor operation, one with a decent-torque rating. You could then lock a bike so tightly to a rack that it can't be moved at all. Use the material in OnGuard's best lock for the U. The key-lock for operating the motor remains the weakest point. 2/2 000
Gryneos @gryneos.bsky.social · 22/09/2026I'm always trying to imagine either alternative or better means of locking a bike. The latest has to do with the fact that worm-gears are "self-locking". That is, when idle, the gear connected to them cannot move either. Make the U of the lock a pinion with a worm-gear. 1/2 100
Gryneos @gryneos.bsky.social · 22/09/2026Probably the best time of day to be riding in that exact direction. The sun isn't blinding yet. 100

Gryneos @gryneos.bsky.social · 30/08/2026Yes, it is a ridiculous scenario we have ended up in.
