GM Tip: Share information freely instead of hiding it behind rolls or denying it entirely. Informed choices are much more interesting than random ones, and sharing information gives the players more authorial power, which makes the game more engaging for everybody. #ttrpg #dnd #rpg #gaming

Don’t beat around the bush and don’t hide your motivations: no-one is out to trap any other character into making a mistake because they didn’t check every square inch of the space they were in or ask an ‘obvious’ question about their situation.

The MC should describe events, places and characters openly: if the players ask them a question about the situation, the MC should answer it as honestly as they can or invite the players to provide the answer.

I think this is one of the best pieces of #ttrpg advice I've ever written, for my "Apps: Shades of Home" Game. 🧵 Be Honest and Open It’s no-one’s place in the game to spring a “Gotcha!” on anyone else; the MC and the PCs are not trying to out-think each other to create or avoid traps.
