Rebecca S @grongar.bsky.social · 08/08/2026Front door flew open in the darkness for no clear reason. For a sleepy second, I half thought he had come home. Finally. After 2 years of pleading. Another Friday night on my own, entertaining ghosts. 240

Rebecca S @grongar.bsky.social · 25/06/2026I finished Mansfield Park, so today's wood stacking audio accompaniment is Northanger Abbey, which I'd never read before. It's so silly and light and fluffy, makes lifting the logs easy! 020

Rebecca S @grongar.bsky.social · 19/06/2026A stormy day—interior and exterior—then the sunlight and unreal blue sky with big puffed clouds and, still later, frogs singing under a crescent moon and fog snaking through the river valley, filling the night with calm softness. Wishing you all peace tonight. 040

Rebecca S @grongar.bsky.social · 20/05/2026Barred owl tonight. Earlier, I cried my eyes out after the chimney sweep left, wanting so badly to have M here, to share the decisions with, the chores and plans. Such emptiness at times. It's hot tonight for May in VT. Barred owl hooting from the edge of my yard, keeping this lonely soul company. 080
Rebecca S @grongar.bsky.social · 18/05/2026Last night I saw the short films made by 6 teams in a mere 48 hours and wow were they fun, creative, and beautifully done. Look what we can do together! 010
Rebecca S @grongar.bsky.social · 15/05/2026Just went out to fetch some firewood (still cold for May) and it's an absolute riot of birdsong out there. Gray catbird, robin, redstart, ovenbird, goldfinch, song sparrow, downy woodpecker, blue-headed vireo, common yellowthroat, a couple different warblers... many more I'm sure. 030
Rebecca S @grongar.bsky.social · 14/05/2026Beautiful rainy day, warmed arepa and hot tea for breakfast, newly delivered wood covered snugly, newly planted seedlings drinking it in, sweet phoebe has returned to the nest on our porch for another year, counting my blessings. 030

Rebecca S @grongar.bsky.social · 23/04/2026Last night we took a ferry to an island where dear friends live in a tiny quirky house filled with books & musical instruments. They fed us a feast by a warming fire, followed by slabs of intensely chocolate cake and berries. Then drove us back to the ferry. Such good conversation and care. Perfect. 2100

Rebecca S @grongar.bsky.social · 08/04/2026Birthday eve. I wrote a poem with a friend, marveled over moon pictures, cooked dinner with my daughter, watched a good movie, and made plans to be out in the world tomorrow, away from work and screens. I will make the best of it because what else is there to do but find beauty and share it? 480
Rebecca S @grongar.bsky.social · 06/04/2026It's just so beautiful to hear these very human descriptions of the lunar surface from the Artemis II crew: their excitement, their knowledge, their power of observation and comparison. Poetic-scientific language in action. 030

Rebecca S @grongar.bsky.social · 10/03/2026Today I worked. And I wrote for 10 minutes with my poetry buddy. And I called the funeral home to get the phone number for the cemetery where I will bury my husband. And I stood outside on a warm March day to watch the clouds. And I breathed. And that's about all the world gets from me today. 250
