After Clancy trial, a call for better postpartum mental health care
Postpartum psychosis is rare, serious, and still widely misunderstood. But the response to one Massachusetts mother’s high-profile murder trial suggests the conversation around it is changing, as advocates push for greater awareness, better-trained healthcare providers, and stronger systems of support for mothers before a mental health crisis becomes an emergency. On January 24, 2023, Lindsay Clancy killed her three young children, Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months, at their home in Duxbury, Mass.,… The post After Clancy trial, a call for better postpartum mental health care appeared first on New England Psychologist.

When first responders need support too
For first responders, repeated exposure to crises, trauma, and high-stakes situations can carry a mental health cost that is not always visible on the job. Susan Allen-Samuel, Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) manager at NAMI New Hampshire, said first responders are more prone to PTSD, anxiety, depression and substance use, while stigma and concerns about professional consequences can make it difficult to seek help.… The post When first responders need support too appeared first on New England Psychologist.

Psychologists likely to see increase in Medicare revenue
In July, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) proposed reforms that included programs to expand care, streamline payment procedures, reduce administrative duties, and shift the healthcare focus from treating symptoms to preventing them. The gift of second chances
Sometimes the best days are the ones where our plans go awry and we find ourselves where we didn’t know we were supposed to be. They can be places of unexpected beauty, relaxed conversation, laughter, and the kind of coincidences that make you realize that there are no coincidences–only the guiding hand of something or someone bigger than ourselves.… The post The gift of second chances appeared first on New England Psychologist.

Fun to see the cowardly GOP look after Orange Man’s interests above the Americans they represent. They just voted to continue sky high grocery & gas prices for Americans by not calling a halt to the ridiculous & costly Iran war that Congress never authorized. Remember this in November.

Can someone explain to me why it’s legal for political candidates to send you unsolicited texts from dummy phone numbers (so even if you block one number, they still send you texts from a different number in a week)?? This seems like it ought to be illegal. Never, ever signed up for a single one.

So apparently to MAGAs, "draining the swamp" means diverting hundreds of millions of dollars from National Parks (which are local to most of them) for Orange Man's pet beautification projects in DC - you know, swamp-central. Not a peep from them about this theft. www.nytimes.com/2026/09/19/c...

What a scam. My local UPS store hides the free UPS branded envelopes for overnight and 2 day service. So when you come in with a prepaid label and ask for the FREE envelope, they charge you a $1 to put your envelope into the UPS envelope. I used to be able to do this myself. For free.

You can support the not-killing of children in a war zone and NOT be antisemitic. The two are not mutually exclusive. Only a small mind believes that some people deserve freedom while others do not. ALL people deserve freedom. That includes Palestinians.

The best takeaway from 60 Minutes pardon purchases is that Orange Man is swayed by being bugged about an issue over & over again. (Yes, you can buy pardons from Orange man.) That explains why he lifted the Irish whisky tariff. Trump: "Everybody’s been bugging me” about it. What a way to lead.

Morgan’s Message: Changing the conversation around student-athlete mental health
For student-athletes, an injury can mean more than time away from competition. It can disrupt identity, community, and a sense of purpose. That experience is at the heart of Morgan’s Message, a nonprofit created in memory of Morgan Rodgers, a Duke University lacrosse player who died by suicide in 2019. Clare Kehoe Zychowski, MSN, RN, co-founder and director of the organization’s education program, grew up playing lacrosse with Morgan and later attended Duke alongside her.… The post Morgan’s Message: Changing the conversation around student-athlete mental health appeared first on New England Psychologist.
