People looking for inexpensive models for coding are sleeping on Xiaomi's mimo-v2.5-pro. It's no Kimi 3 but for well-scoped tasks it absolutely does the job. I've had it cranking on some small features/chores in a loop for the past two hours, and so far the bill racked up is about $1.50.

I remember a stat about "Pct of men who think they could score a point on Serena Williams" (12.5%) and thinking (a) that's roughly 12.4% too high, and (b) misogyny is a shame. But this addition to the research field just makes me conclude half of us men are just fucking stupid.

Took two tries, but now I have the home-built ability to annoy ALL the neighbors with my taste in music.

Overhead view of a circuit board for a stereo amplifier. A number of leads with alligator clips are fixed on one side. All the components on the board - big transistors, capacitors, etc - scream "CHONKY." An absolutely comically sized heatsink is mounted in the center of the board.

What this means for our customers

Secretary Hegseth has implied this designation would restrict anyone who does business with the military from doing business with Anthropic. The Secretary does not have the statutory authority to back up this statement. Legally, a supply chain risk designation under 10 USC 3252 can only extend to the use of Claude as part of Department of War contracts—it cannot affect how contractors use Claude to serve other customers.
