Tim Swindle cryarsing about AI disclosure being a scarlet letter lets slip something significant here, because if AI was all that slop jockeys claim it was, then surely such a disclosure would be a mark of pride, even a selling point! Surely people would be clamouring for AI games. But they're not.

Was aller paar Monate passiert.

CN Saneism, animal cruelty Being told to "go to therapy" and not "project my trauma on others", because I said I was raised on a farm and saw a lot of death and felt really bad when I realised animals can suffer. By an anarchist btw, upholding hierarchies of mentally ill and healthy people

Thinking that "we should reduce consumption of animal products or go vegan, to reduce the impact on the climate" is not a moral argument ist also very weird to me. You say we *should* do something (or stop doing something). This is very much a moral argument.

"The largest predator that ever flew doesn't make sense" Quetzalcoatlus clearly existed and was clearly capable of flight The thing you said doesn't make sense existed, and "made sense" because of that fact Just because you don't know why/how, doesn't make a thing that exists "not make sense"

Also für die meisten reicht es, wenn Mamdani an der Macht ist, was er genau macht ist irrelevant.

Grellock @grellock.bsky.social · 25/06/2026

Grellock @grellock.bsky.social · 25/06/2026

Grellock @grellock.bsky.social · 25/06/2026

Really? I mean really?

Grellock @grellock.bsky.social · 25/06/2026
But that doesn't mean the conversations about morality should stop. 2/2

And again, saneism. "dumb" You didn't even apologised. And I never said "just talk about morals, nothing else, don't even think about doing something else" You invented this position. I think a lot of things you mentioned are a lot more effective and actively change things. 1/

Telling someone to "go to therapy" is just completely fucked up, what the hell
100
Grellock @grellock.bsky.social · 25/06/2026
Until now I thought this was a friendly conversation. Now you clearly showed saneism and ableism. This is very fucked up.
100
Grellock @grellock.bsky.social · 25/06/2026
Sure shouldn't be the only thing. And it is actually a very small part to change things. But you know what one of the main reasons is, that it doesn't seem to work and people stop doing it? Because everyone tries to shut down these conversations, like in this example.
100
Grellock @grellock.bsky.social · 25/06/2026
The horror triggers thoughts/conversations about morality. Seeing horror and then thinking "this is wrong" is pretty much the essence of what morality is. And the obligation arises from that.
100
Grellock @grellock.bsky.social · 25/06/2026
And Fascism can only be stopped if enough people think it is a moral imperative to fight. Morality plays such a huge role in all of what is happening. As part of the reason why it is happening, and as part of the fight against it. 2/2
100
Grellock @grellock.bsky.social · 25/06/2026
True. And therefor we should stop talking about the immorality of fascism or genocide? Because the exact same tactics to shut down conversations are being used in a lot of contexts. People only stop murdering people, when they realise it is morally wrong. 1/

Grellock @grellock.bsky.social · 25/06/2026
And if you dig a bit deeper, the vast majority of vegans went fully vegan without a possibility to go back, because of moral reasons. Talking about the impact of climate change can introduce the topic, but what really gets to people is the suffering.
000
Grellock @grellock.bsky.social · 25/06/2026
On and of veggie vegan since 2005, and fully vegan for 5 years. You know what got me? I was raised on a farm. I saw a lot of death. Everyone justified it, I did too. The moment I realised, I mean REALLY realised, animals can suffer was devestating to me. So for me it really WAS effective.

Grellock @grellock.bsky.social · 25/06/2026
The failures of arguing from a moral perpective is not about the method, it fails/failed, because society became extremely good in justifying the injustifiable. People generally try to shut down moral conversation. We really shouldn't let that happen.
100
Grellock @grellock.bsky.social · 25/06/2026
This is one of the reasons we need to talk about the moral obligation more, because people just want to shut down the conversation, because they want to feel good while murdering animals. But both things, murdering animals and feeling good, can't be true at the same time. 2/2
100
Grellock @grellock.bsky.social · 25/06/2026
True. People get extremely angry when they are being told, that they don't just eat meat, but murder beings that can suffer and want to live, which is morally wrong. It became the norm, that if people start to feel uncomfortable, because they clearly are in the wrong, they get angry. 1/

Grellock @grellock.bsky.social · 25/06/2026
If we don't talk about the moral obligation, things will change more slowly or not at all. It isn't about denying people food who don't have alternatives. Ofcourse you can eat what you want, if the alternative is dead. But if the messaging is "you don't have to" people won't work to make it happen

Grellock @grellock.bsky.social · 25/06/2026
We absolutely all have to go vegan, because it is the only moral thing to do. Killing selfconscious beings that clearly show they can suffer and clearly show they want to live, is just morally wrong. (In the context of climate, sure, but the position "not all have to go vegan" is still wrong)

Every single conference is filled with academics talking about how this period of UK higher education is the worst they've ever seen. The entire industry is collapsing and no one is doing anything. Union is dead, politicians don't give a shit, public still think we're all rich

Grellock @grellock.bsky.social · 23/06/2026
120
Grellock @grellock.bsky.social · 23/06/2026

Grellock @grellock.bsky.social · 23/06/2026

Grellock @grellock.bsky.social · 23/06/2026
120
Grellock @grellock.bsky.social · 23/06/2026

Gerade ein langes Gespräch über Integrationskurse gehabt. Was sollen *Integrations*kurse bezwecken?
